THE GOOD:
-Greatly improved graphics, making a more realistic environment.
-More intricate game play e.g. Actual days, aspirations, pregnancy.
-A new aging process.
-A wide range of clothes, for every aspect of a Sim's life.
-Thousands of items to choose ,from a Victorian chair to a modern table.
-Movie making tools, to create and edit a Sims movie.

THE BAD:
-Higher graphics means a better computer.
-Unable to minimize, to do other tasks.
-Even with a good computer, big house, lots of items, lots of Sims, really eats away at your computer's performance.

SUMMARY:
The base game, by itself, is by its on right a fantastic game. There are so many new features, that simply bring the game to life.
You can now become a friend, or a best friend. Have a crush, or fall in love. Also if you choose to get married, you won't suddenly get dressed in clothes and do it right there and then. If you...

THE GOOD:
I have been a player of the original Sims game since it came outa few years ago. So naturally when the sequel to the "#1 PC game of all time" came out, i was the first in line for a copy.

Its very difficult to find anything wrong with this game. There is smooth gameplay, building houses has been taken to a whole new level (ha ha), the facial expressions of your sims and ability to create absolute monsters are just a few of the best features. The music is also better, but in one of the buying mode songs, there is an underbeat that really ticks me off after a while...
the MAKE A SIM page is heaps of fun, which can amuse you for hours. YOu can make absolute monsters or someone with a GINORMOUS nose(like my maths teacher)or with no nose at all. And you can make the Male Sims wear Make-up...what fun!!

A completely new feature to this game is the aging process, Babies become toddlers, toddlers become children, children become teenagers, teenagers...

THE GOOD:
Brand new visuals, the game looks much sharper.
Hundreds of new ways to have your Sim look.
Wonderfully detailed Objects/Houses.
Addictive (a bad thing too?).
An object colour option.

THE BAD:
Far too easy to get bored of.
New features don't take away the feeling of repetition.
Frustrating.
Lack of items.

SUMMARY:
It feels like forever since The Sims was released on the PC. I can remember it being in the old A4-sized box that PC games were packed in until they were scaled down to a much better size. EA has sponged off countless expansion packs offering, being honest, only a few features/places to go. Towards the end of the expansion packs, I believe EA lost the plot. I refused to pay another £20 just so I could have a cat etc etc.

The Sims was the first of its kind to such an extent, but there were dozens of things that weren't included that stopped it from being rated a great game. Realism in many areas...

THE GOOD:
This game has good graphics.
It buries the first Sims into forgotten memory.
Improved AI.

THE BAD:
It gets slow if you use a lot of sims, or a huge house. Especially if you have a moderate computer.

SUMMARY:
The Sims 2 offers a better simulation than the first Sims. The sims are smarter, and they react better to their environment. A number of small in-game videos are added to the game to give it life.

The Sims 2 contains a 6 stage life span for each sim. Baby, Toddler, Child, Teenager, Adult, and Elder. Each stage, contains a number of game days. Each stage is characterized with what people do in real life. For example, teenagers start dating in real life, and in the Sims 2, when you become a teenager, you can start dating.

A lot of new commands are added to each item. Which increased the number of interactions with the items and other sims. This gives a variety to the things a sim can do.

But this game...

I have played the original Sims plus all the expansion packs and I have also played both Sims games that came out for the game consoles.

Graphics: 9/10

There is no denying that the graphics have majorly improved. With the unique detail in everything. There were a few minor things that didn't look right with these particular graphics but otherwise they are excellent.

Sound/Music: 10/10

This has majorly improved from the original. There is so much more choice especially on the stereos for music.

Gameplay Overall: 6/10
(Since this is where the majority of my review will fall I'm dividing it into categories looking at each aspect of the gameplay)

1. Aging: 8/10 - The aging concept is the best idea they have ever had for the Sims game. It's undescribably cool to watch one Sim age from a baby till death. It is also represented in an actual life way with how little things the Sims do when their young effect them when they older. There is one...

Graphics: 9/10
Sound: 9/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Value and Longevity: 7/10
Tilt of Mars: 8/10
Grade: B-

A sequel to one of the most addictive games ever created, The Sims 2 looks to improve on its predecessor in every way it can. Well, it does for the most part except for the key components of longevity and the number of items you can purchase (which ought to be fixed by upcoming expansions).

The graphics are a solid improvement from the original Sims, which is to be expected from a computer game released almost 5 years after the original version. You can move the camera in all directions around the 3D models, and all of the images look sharp in the game (if your computer can handle it). There is a bit of slowdown going into community lots, which is a bit of a letdown, but that's one of the few graphical problems there are.

The sound is great and probably the best part of the game... for me at least. Simlish is back and has more vocabulary...

THE GOOD:
New Generations
Sounds
Graphics
Facial expressions
Create-A-Sim
Sims Die
Reward objects
Neighborhoods
Thunderstorms
Can change colours of some objects.
A REALLY HOT french maid (I'd buy the game just for that )

THE BAD:
Hmm... The sims die almost too fast.
When your playing with one sim, The rest of the neighborhood doesn't age. Neither does the Paper boy, So if your in love, Forget it.
Thats pretty much it. ('Sep there's no cars that you can own...)

SUMMARY:
Over all a awesome game. You should definately get this game. (Start saving for those expansion packs though. Life doesn't have a RoseBud) Cheats of course

Forget what some of the other users wrote-It's a Sim game- It's going to be the same thing. Of course, as said above, there will be expansion packs.
Totally better than the first...

-Walls get in your way

SUMMARY:
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 9.5/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Value and Longevity: 8/10

This Game is the best game so far. If you don't have it yet..YOU HAVE TO GET IT. The sounds are pretty good (especially the Latin music on the Boombox)*Dances to the music* wooo!!..anyway...yeah this game is awesome..but for the people on the slow computers, I recommend you DON'T get this game. And also, this game works bet for all you Alienware Computer users. But it slows down on community lots...that's why Overall, I give it a 4.9 out of 5.hope you found this review helpful.check out my other reviews too!

THE GOOD:
~Very good graphics!
~A movie making tool where you can create a movie, a music video, or whatever you like!
~Lots of better/more cheats than in the Sims 1
~The ability to decorate neighbourhoods.
~Cooler expansion packs than in the Sims 1.There are now things called 'stuff' packs where you can unlock hundreds of special items and clothing.
~You can now choose your Sims Formal, underwear, pyjamas, and athletic outfit as well as their everyday outfit.
~Time doesn't go on endlessly, and your sims age now.
~You can now change the design of most objects in the catalog. This can be effective for creating rooms to match a certain Sim characters personality.
