THE GOOD: Has good worlds to explore just like its SEGA Genesis cousin.
Storyline is very well setup.
Soundtrack is awesome... I even have it on my MP3 player!THE BAD: Some areas can be slightly disorienting.
Doesn't work on a Windows 2k/XP based machine. SUMMARY: Sonic CD is a game that is very much like the original Sonic game for the Genesis. It has captivated my game loving self! It has good elements of game-play and can be exciting for all ages whether you are 6 or 96. Nintendo has tried falsely to make Sonic look like a complete wimp in the gaming industry but they have failed miserably. This version of Sonic gives the best of the SEGA Genisis world to PC users like me. A very bold move indeed since SEGA, at the time, was trying to promote their own console technologies.
Ok... a handful of the levels in this game are somewhat flaky at best due to their mostly distracting color scheme for those levels. However, the good in this game over powers those little problems I have with the game by providing a good story and plot. The boss levels are also a bit challenging and are full of suspense!
Also, after testing the game on my Windows 2000 based rig, I was disappointed with the fact that the game would not even start up. Because of this, I had to resort to a PC emulator called QEMU to do the trick. If you would like to try out this amazing program, I suggest you to visit www.qemu.org and download the emulator. However, before you rush to get this program, make sure you have a Windows 95/98 CD handy. Also, attempt this method only if you are at all computer savvy.
Other than those short-comings, the game is worth getting. You may have to dig in a bargain bin to find it though.
