Without a doubt, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was probably one of my most favourite games to ever come out for the PC. It was a step in a new direction for the Star Wars genre, definitely one that was overdue for creation. It held one of the most immersive Star Wars experiences I have ever had, and also had me looking forward to the next KotOR game in the genre.

One of the big points that Star Wars games usually get knocked for, I find, is a lack of a plot which is separated from the movies. When you play most console and PC Star Wars games, they are re-enactments of the same point in the fourth Star Wars where you are charging down the Death Star, or it's a soldier's story of what happened through the six episodes. Right from the start, Knights of the Old Republic breaks that mold.

You start off the game on board the Endar Spire, under attack by Sith forces. The year is 4,000 years before the movie series, still a fair distance into the Republic's...

THE GOOD:
~ Graphics are great~Story line is excellent~Party member selection~Ability to customise your weapons~The choise between light and dark side

THE BAD:
~turn based combat~Not being able to explore more of the planets~Can't continue after the final confrontation~Very glitchy and buggy!

SUMMARY:
This game is quite simply one of the best Rpg games that I have played. I was really surprised at the grapics as a lot of RPG games don't have the exceptional graphics like this game. At first I thought I was going to be playing as a jedi but I was playing as a soldier instead but the game finally lead me into being a jedi, but the concept of it is quite original. The game is very addictive and your into the game straight away which I like in games. Once you start playing it's obvious that Bioware has put a lot of effort into the game as it feals so life like (especially when you get down to the planet Taris). I only wish that you could of...

THE GOOD:
-Brilliant story
-Superb Gameplay
-Get to be a Jedi
-Has planety of side missions
-Cool Graphics (especially the fish people of Manann)

THE BAD:
-Has a few glitches to the game, but not ones to worry about
-Need top-notch machine to have all the graphics options on high
-A bit too short
I cant think of anything else

SUMMARY:
Well, finally, Lucasarts have a game to live up to. Bioware on the other hand...well no need to complain about them.
So the game is set 4,000 years before the orginal Star Wars films, and you lead a band of warriors to defeat an ongoing war that has been raging on, Jedi vs Sith.
Its good because we dont see have to see Lukes boring face again, and good for Bioware because they have a brilliant sci-fi to play with, creating different worlds that we havent even seen before in the Star Wars films....right we got that out of the way.
Well first the character selection...
