SUMMARY:
Well, finally, Lucasarts have a game to live up to. Bioware on the other hand...well no need to complain about them.
So the game is set 4,000 years before the orginal Star Wars films, and you lead a band of warriors to defeat an ongoing war that has been raging on, Jedi vs Sith.
Its good because we dont see have to see Lukes boring face again, and good for Bioware because they have a brilliant sci-fi to play with, creating different worlds that we havent even seen before in the Star Wars films....right we got that out of the way.
Well first the character selection is..alright...because you can only choose human, male or female (but you guessed that already). I would of liked to choose an alien. You can master three professions Scoundrel, Scout or Soldier. I preferably chose Scout, it helps with the locked doors and chests.
Alright when you first start Knights of the Old Republic you basically start a tutorial-a helpful tutorial- but while playing the game of course.
I guess Im boring people..but that bit was for people who havent played it!
The graphics- lovely in every way, when you see the backgrounds you will drool over your keyboard and most probably will have to buy a new one-i should of got a bib-. If you want graphics resolution set high and everything else set high then your gonna need a powerful machine, it needs 4 CDs for god sake!
The gameplay- It is wonderful, there is so much detail that bioware have went through. The characters have their own personality, you will actually care for them. I went through it once and said to myself "Go to the darkside the second time", but I couldnt, I could not betray my ingame friends...how sad. The weapons are wonderful the lightsaber is the second best...I think the best weapon is some of the ancient melee weapons.
The force powers are brill, whirlwind is my fave. You pick up your enemy and he starts spinning around, the effects are cool...and its funny!
The Ebon Hawk is better than the Millenium Falcon...I think. It looks better for starters and the interior is lush...it would make Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen blush (for the brits).
The story- Well your a saviour, like Anakin and Luke. You are recognised for having the a strong connection in the force from the start of the game by a Jedi named Bastilla. And you have to fight a Sith called Darth Malak...more menacing than O Lord Vader...especially when the breathing thing comes off.
Well thats all I have to say about the game. I would recommend it to RPG or Star Wars fans alike...I would ramble on some more, but there is so much detail that your gonna have to buy the game yourself!
So get down those shops.....NOW!
