Tarr Chronicles is the painful combination of incomprehensible and insipid.
"Between each operation you'll get the opportunity to modify your ship. Heading into a hangar lets you change out hulls, armor, engines, and reactors, all of which must fit under a weight limit tied to the hull. The number of weapon slots and durability are also determined by the hull chosen, which comes in variable types like bulky or standard. Special hulls, like the Wolf-LK, add bonuses such as fifteen percent weapon damage. Armor does what you'd expect, engines can affect the cooling rate of the ship, and the reactor determines your energy limit. Within the reactor's energy limit you'll have to slot as many missiles, guns, shields, and devices as you can. Guns produce different amounts of heat with every fire, have damage ratings, reload times, and do different degrees of damage to shields and armor. If none of these customization issues interests you, there's an option to auto-configure your ship with what the game considers to be the best loadout."
