Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

"Ironically enough, Dark Crusade's biggest competition is Company of Heroes, a game that makes the Dawn of War series seem about a half-generation behind the "now" in terms of both graphics and gameplay. Those coming straight from COH might be a tad spoiled, and will long for features (like the Retreat button!) not present in Dark Crusade. On the other hand, this is still an outstanding RTS in its own right, and Relic is currently making the best RTS games in the business. For those already addicted to Dawn of War, this a must-have."

Dawn of War 2 isn't a complete evolution of the genre, but it's pretty damn close.

"Dark Crusade will likely be the last expansion in this round of Dawn of War games. It'd be fairly surprising if the franchise wasn't revisited at some point, especially after seeing the engine used in Company of Heroes. That level of wanton destruction is basically what Warhammer 40,000 is all about. In the meantime, Dark Crusade will certainly fill the time and add some interesting mechanics to the campaign mode that make it a bit more replayable than basic story-based modes."
