THE GOOD:
Graphics
Sound
Pyramid Head!!!!
Pretty damn scary!
Excellent Story

THE BAD:
Monsters are dumber than SH3
Escorting Maria
Clumsy Combat
Cheesy parts

SUMMARY:
While I say that SH3 blows this out of the water, this game is cool. The game is still not recommended for minors, but it will take a while until the environments get to be disturbing. The apartments didn't scare me that much.
Anyways, the graphics are fantastic and they give much justice to the monsters and environments. Every building in Silent Hill seems to have gone to hell and the monsters actually reflect the emotions of the main character (very deep). My favorite monster of this game, as many of you know, is Pyramid Head, the invincible demon that stalks you with a powerful weapon and makes sweet love to some of the other creatures. On a humorous note, it would be funny (and disgusting) if Konami made a website that had hot Pyramid Head-on-monster...

THE GOOD:
Extremely good graphics, weapons.

THE BAD:
The <A title="Best game" style="COLOR: #65b45c; TEXT-DECORATION: underline" href="http://69.42.87.204/cgi-bin/ezlclk.fcgi?id=9422" target=_blank>game</A> was too easy

SUMMARY:
Silent Hill Was brought to life by Konami, same developers as Metal Gear Solid and many other great titles. If you like the type of "Horror" games that include 'zombies' 'Puzzle solving' and you want to just beat a game in 2 hours, get the game for pete sake!
Silent Hill 2 contributes to highly deatailed weapons and has a full range of up to over 15 weapons total, including a high class chainsaw. The point of the game is to find your late wife. The main character, James, get's a letter in the mail from his late wife mary. And you go through the game to get to her. You'll be into the game so much, you'll forget what your even doing. Silent hill 2 tosses Silent Hill 1 aside, (you should play Silent...

Two sequels further yet Silent Hill 2 still remains the best in my opinion.
This game is good...real good.
Close your eyes and imagine this:
You enter a dark room, your flashlight flickers and the radio you carry produces static, you know there's something here but your flashlight doesn't light the whole room, you frantically turn around trying to locate the source of what's causing the static. You hear something behind you and turn back around...your heart pumps faster and faster with every false alarm. You see a shadow in the centre of the room, you slowly inch forward but when you reach the shadow you realize that it's just a mirror, then all of a sudden..a loud screech and scuttering on the floor makes your heart miss a beat.
Hey you didn't close your eyes!
This is just an example of the many terrors and psychological scares you will experience in this awesome game. You see SH2 is not like any other horror game, you won't see a zombie jump out in front of you or...

THE GOOD:
No clue where to start but here it goes:The improved battle system, the awesome graphics, the new variety of weapons, the awesome story(which I think is the best story out of all of the Silent Hill games),the cool characters that you can't help but feel for,and of course:the scare factor that most people buy this game for.

THE BAD:
The only bad things about this game were all of the locked doors that got a little repetitave after a while and the frustrating puzzles, but I suppose without the puzzles being tough, the game would be too easy.

Also James runs like a dork with the stick.

SUMMARY:
Anyone who has played any other Silent Hill,or any other survival/horror game for that matter, will love this game.People who have played a Silent Hill game will especially enjoy this game, seeing as how it connects in a lot of ways with some of the other titles. If you don't have this game I suggest getting it...now!

There are different types of horror. There's the kind that goes for the obvious and cheap shock-scare, like Jason in a mask with a chainsaw, or the leering zombie who jumps out from behind the table accompanied by a scream and a stab of high-pitched violins. Then there's horror of a more subtle nature -- the kind that taps into psychology to create a terror that lingers long after the actual experience is over, as the events stay in the mind, are turned over, examined, and expanded by the power of our own imagination.

Silent Hill is psychological horror of the best kind. It is a game that doesn't want to be liked. It wants to disturb, depress, and shock. It wants to make the player turn away. It succeeds through masterful manipulation of atmosphere, and a fearless and deliberate exploitation of our basest fears. These fears run far deeper than clichés like zombies (and there are zombies in Silent Hill), and explore topics like abuse, mental illness, serial killing, and what...
THE GOOD:
.Very scary
.Interesting story/characters
.multiple endings
.Smacking monsters with a big plank/pole!
.guns
.Combat

THE BAD:
.You might get stuck alot like I did
.Not as scary as Fatal Frame

SUMMARY:
Silent Hill 2 is about a guy called James Sunderland who still mourns the death of his wife Mary three years ago. One day he recieved a letter from Mary telling him that she is in Silent Hill waiting for him at their "special place". Even though James knows his wife is dead he still goes to Silent Hill to look for her. He soon realises the town is full of monsters and he meets some people along the way.

Combat is quite good because you can batter zombies with wooden planks or a big pole or later on you can find guns i.e. a handgun, shotgun. The game is much scarier than Resident Evil series because the monsters can sometimes hide somewhere then attack you when they spot you and the radio you collect a few minutes...

THE GOOD:
The Graphics On The CG Videos Are The Best You'll Find, The Sounds Are Terrifying. The Characters Are Depressing And Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat.

THE BAD:
TOOOOO Short, Can Be Done In An Hour And A Half By Experts!

SUMMARY:
Everything About This Game Is Terrifying. The Characters Are Very Mysterious And Creepy. You Feel Alone Most Of The Time Cos There Aren't Many Characters. There Are A Few Good Terrifying Locations. The Scariest Being Toluca Prison. The Graphics Are Stunning And The Expressions On There Faces Is Genius! The Sound Is What Makes The Game Scary! Like Thrashing Banging Music Effects To Really Terrify You. I Honestly Played This Game For The First Time At Midnight And Turned The PS2 Off When I Reached The First Boss In The Apartments. GET THIS GAME FOR A TRUE SCARE!!!! I Dare You. Keep The Sound Up Too.

After experiencing the macabre, nightmarish, almost abstract world of the original Silent Hill I wasn't eagerly awaiting the sequal (my spine had been through more than enough shiver enduced strains for one lifetimes). But of course, I read some reviews and decided the purchase on the day of release, assured that this was a much more polished experience, the extra 96 bits of graphical power may have been the reason. I waited tenatively outside my local games retailer at 9 am with a money clip just waiting to be given leave of it's cash holding duties.

So after a hard day wasted at college looking at the rather nifty packaging and studying the manual, I snuck out early and drove home. "No time to eat" I thought as I dusted off the trusty PS2, AV cable in, Silent Hill 2 game disc in time to play...

First I was hit with an enthralling plot from the start, I actually had a reason for being in this forsaken place. The letter was inspired, I was curious as to why I had...

THE GOOD:
What isn't good aout this game? The visuals are stunning, and bring the characters and monsters to life. The sound adds to the frightening atmosphere, the voice acting is done very well, and the monsters sound, well, evil! The controls are tight, and very responsive. The difficulty can be adjusted for starters (Beginner), to Masters (Hard). The story is excellent. You'll be on the edge of your seat!

THE BAD:
NOT as scary as the first, but very close!

SUMMARY:
If you like survivor horror, GO GET THIS GAME! If you liked Silent Hill, BUY THIS GAME IMMEDIATELY! If you never played Silent Hill, GO BUY IT, AND THIS GAME! This game will keep you spooked for hours to come. Perfect to play at night with the lights off, because you'll be having a hard time trying to sleep after playing THIS game!

Buy this game, if you crave fear...

THE GOOD:
Marvellously atmospheric, excellent use of surround sound, good value for money

THE BAD:
A bit of wandering around sometimes, quite depressing

SUMMARY:
While the original Silent Hill on PlayStation has got to be the most scary game I've ever played, Silent Hill 2 on XBox is one of the most atmospheric games in existence, especially if you have a surround sound system setup correctly.

As in both game the sonics are amazing and create a constant sense of the eerie surroundings, and a bit of shock-effect once in a while too.

Above average graphics and ok control scheme, and the usual action adventure gameplay mechanics of killing monsters and solving relatively easy puzzles. The riddle level can be changed to a harder setting, as can the action level.

What Silent Hill 2 excells in is the atmosphere that sucks you into a senseless state of depression and brown-trousers territory. Not everyone's cuppa tea...
