SUMMARY:
While I say that SH3 blows this out of the water, this game is cool. The game is still not recommended for minors, but it will take a while until the environments get to be disturbing. The apartments didn't scare me that much.
Anyways, the graphics are fantastic and they give much justice to the monsters and environments. Every building in Silent Hill seems to have gone to hell and the monsters actually reflect the emotions of the main character (very deep). My favorite monster of this game, as many of you know, is Pyramid Head, the invincible demon that stalks you with a powerful weapon and makes sweet love to some of the other creatures. On a humorous note, it would be funny (and disgusting) if Konami made a website that had hot Pyramid Head-on-monster action! Jokes aside, Pyramid is scary and awesome at once.
Much like any SH game, SH2 builds most of its scare factor on creepy audio. If you enter a dark room, hear a shreek, then your radio blasts static you will likely piss your pants and lose your mind.
However, the game still suffers from clunky controls and the monsters have much worse bark than bite. Also, if you don't like puzzles, stay away from this game. another complaint is that while the story is incredibly deep, it will have some cheesy parts that are sure to make you giggle (much like "Star Wars").
Lastly, escorting Maria is a pain-in-the-ass.
I recommend this game
