Konami has seriously taken sound to a whole new level.
In the cutscenes there are recognizable instruments that incorporate thier way into the atmosphere nicely but in the general playing areas there is a different kind of music. This music is more like a sound effect which seems to manifest itself into the games reality directly, as if a pent up and tortured demon is bellowing out somewhere in the game just off screen. In the moment you dont think" this is only music being played" these sound effects blend into a pure feeling of what is happening in the game. Realistic cars and buildings are seen throughout the town, the characters and monsters also carry a good sense of realism. There is alot of graffiti, trash, and destruction which works well to convince someone of the situation. The creators must have took thier time with every room and wall to create a chaotic artistic expression. I found the camera angle is a great improvement over...

The graphics, sound and overall atmosphere of the game THE BAD: SUMMARY:
THE GOOD:
Huge cities to explore, VERY scary moments, beautiful graphics, involving plot, weird characters. THE BAD: SUMMARY:
This is the game that crossed all lines, the game that made all other horror games look soft and cuddly, with its very adult content. Where not even sex is left in the shadows. This is not even a game; it is an experience, a mixture of excellence meant to touch all your senses. Something that is impossible to express through words. More among the lines of being followed, or the chillness of water licking your neck in a dark and cramped place. The coldness of the mist that wets and blurs your vision, these are all elements of Silent Hill 2. Elements so carefully constructed and implemented, that you can't even put your finger on what makes it all feel so complete. The expression You cannot see the woods for all the trees, certainly rings true in this case.
The main character (James Sunderland) of Silent Hill 2 is lost in grief and sorrow. His wife died three years ago, but he still hasn't accepted it. Struggling with his own past and fighting to move on with his...

Better graphics than the 1st one More cinema cuts and a etter storyline THE BAD: SUMMARY:
There are different types of horror. There's the kind that goes for the obvious and cheap shock-scare, like Jason in a mask with a chainsaw, or the leering zombie who jumps out from behind the table accompanied by a scream and a stab of high-pitched violins. Then there's horror of a more subtle nature -- the kind that taps into psychology to create a terror that lingers long after the actual experience is over, as the events stay in the mind, are turned over, examined, and expanded by the power of our own imagination.
Silent Hill is psychological horror of the best kind. It is a game that doesn't want to be liked. It wants to disturb, depress, and shock. It wants to make the player turn away. It succeeds through masterful manipulation of atmosphere, and a fearless and deliberate exploitation of our basest fears. These fears run far deeper than clichés like zombies (and there are zombies in Silent Hill), and explore topics like abuse, mental illness, serial killing, and what...
