Silent Hill 2

Konami has seriously taken sound to a whole new level.
In the cutscenes there are recognizable instruments that incorporate thier way into the atmosphere nicely but in the general playing areas there is a different kind of music.
This music is more like a sound effect which seems to manifest itself into the games reality directly, as if a pent up and tortured demon is bellowing out somewhere in the game just off screen.
In the moment you dont think" this is only music being played" these sound effects blend into a pure feeling of what is happening in the game.
Realistic cars and buildings are seen throughout the town, the characters and monsters also carry a good sense of realism.
There is alot of graffiti, trash, and destruction which works well to convince someone of the situation.
The creators must have took thier time with every room and wall to create a chaotic artistic expression.

THE GOOD:

Camera woes for the first few minutes but once you get used to the manual camera fixing, it works well

SUMMARY:
Silent Hill returns on PS2 and what a return. I have been waiting for this game since I first heard it was going to be produced. After loading up the game does not fail to live up to the hype. The first thing you notice is the graphics. A lot has been said about the graphics and they are true, however when you first see the game running you notice a strange grainy fuss to the whole thing. This gives an almosy worn, evil look.
You like FOG? This game features the best fog ever. It has to be seen to be believed. The sound is awesome and suits the game perfectly. You will be more freaked out by the sound rather than actual events playing on screen. The puzzles are balanced just right and there is hardly any backtacking to do.

THE GOOD:

Not pretty reponse to my instructions on my keypat. Frame rate seems a little low. I was expecting to see anti-alias.

SUMMARY:
This is the best horror game i 've ever play. Because it really gives me horror. The realistic enviornment makes me feel like i am James. I realise that this is just a game, and i have save or continue. Monster is walking slowly. Still, I scared my ass.

THE GOOD:
The game has a good story line and great video and sound

The game has a few parts that make it very Hard and may make you want to break it but just take your time and the game will unfold

this games great the graphics give you a great horror movie sensation and its the best to play in the dark. Do not pass up this game for anything this is by FAR! my favorite game and i dont think that will change(silent hill 3 maby) but in conclusion this game is the best..HATS OFF TO THE CREATURES!

THE GOOD:
Everything, the lighting effects are surreal and cascade off every inch of every object. Turn up the volume because the music is what is out to get you. Silent Hill 2 mixes all the basic elements of an adventure game with the most terrifyingly disturbed storyline ever portrayed in a videogame. A must for anyone quenching fear at it's greatest prime within a videogame.

THE BAD:
Maybe it was a little too short but i still keep on coming back for more. Probably not as good as the original but still a perfect 5.0

This game is fantastic. It kept my interest the whole game with its eerie noises, dense fog and scary mutants. Also making this game good is its puzzles. Unlike other games where there is no story, this game makes you solve puzzles to advance in the story. Right from the beginning, the story immerses you into the world of James, an average guy trying to figure out the mystery of his dead wife. This game is awesome! I don't reccomend it it to pansies who play games like Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Mario Sunshine. I definately encourage every RPG and action fan to try this one out.

THE GOOD:
Major good graphics.

THE BAD:
Less gore to me for some reason? The guys you are fighting are not as creepy because they are less human like killing puppies because they are funny when they scurry on the ground!

SUMMARY:
When I first strated it was taking place in Silent Hill again but you start in a different Silent Hill then the first one? and the town is somewhat different but I did like the gameplay again. The funny thing is the stupid nurses because they are not as creepy without the bug growing out of their backs from the first Silent Hill. The story line is magnificent like a movie almost, too bad that they have not made a Silent Hill movie! I think it would be the scariest horror movie in history, it is worth the money definetly!

THE GOOD:
The Graphics On The CG Videos Are The Best You'll Find, The Sounds Are Terrifying. The Characters Are Depressing And Keep You On The Edge Of Your Seat.

TOOOOO Short, Can Be Done In An Hour And A Half By Experts!

Everything About This Game Is Terrifying. The Characters Are Very Mysterious And Creepy. You Feel Alone Most Of The Time Cos There Aren't Many Characters. There Are A Few Good Terrifying Locations. The Scariest Being Toluca Prison. The Graphics Are Stunning And The Expressions On There Faces Is Genius! The Sound Is What Makes The Game Scary! Like Thrashing Banging Music Effects To Really Terrify You. I Honestly Played This Game For The First Time At Midnight And Turned The PS2 Off When I Reached The First Boss In The Apartments. GET THIS GAME FOR A TRUE SCARE!!!! I Dare You. Keep The Sound Up Too.

THE GOOD:
No clue where to start but here it goes:The improved battle system,the awesome graphics,the new variety of weapons,the awesome story(which I think is the best story out of all of the Silent Hill games),the cool characters that you can't help but feel for,and of course:the scare factor that most people buy this game for.

THE BAD:
The only bad things about this game were all of the locked doors that got a little repetitave after a while and the frustrating puzzles,but I suppose without the puzzles being tough,the game would be too easy.

Also James runs like a dork with the stick.

SUMMARY:
Anyone who has played any other Silent Hill,or any other survival/horror game for that matter,will love this game.People who have played a Silent Hill game will especially enjoy this game,seeing as how it connects in a lot of ways with some of the other titles.If you don't have this game I suggest getting it...now!
