THE GOOD: ~Neat looking levels ~Action pact ~Driving missionsTHE BAD: ~A lot of things ~It feels fake SUMMARY: Well this game is not as bad as what most people say, really I think that they are just saying what everyone else thinks, though I think that this is a very average game.
At first this game makes an appealing presentation but is ruined by the game play. The graphics are great though Bond doesn't look like any of the bonds at all. The levels are visually colourfull and can draw you into it.
The music isn't anything original as a lot of the time it is the same duh, duh, duh... duh, duh, duh, etc. Damn annoying theme tune. Sounds are ok, not great.
One of the levels is wherew you drive around a whole city which is fun, the driving levels are fun but the shooting ones are very dodgy and are not as fun.
Multiplyer is fun for a while but there is only one good MP level, there are many different optiions for your MP so it is kind of fun.
Over all this game is average and has an ok replay value, though I recommend you rent before you buy.

James Bond 007 in... Agent Under Fire | 4.0 0 comments |
by Nikolai Diavolo from London, , England | Apr 11, 2004 |
THE GOOD: Original plot that is not restricted by any films. Healthy weaponary variety. Bond is Bond and not some Hollywood actor. R and the Q-Lab gadget phone that does everything. Frantic driving sections. Diverse multiplayer that almost beats "GoldenEye 007". Great music. Detailled graphics.THE BAD: On-rails shooting sections. Length. SUMMARY: James Bond blasts onto the PlayStation2 and lands with both feet firmly on the ground in this first-person shooter / driving simulation / on-rails shooter. Without the guidence of a film's plotline, as with the other major Bond games, "Agent Under Fire" creates an interesting story with a few twists that allows 007 to visit some of the most stunning locations ever featured in a computer game.
The graphics engine really shows this off well, displaying all the unneccesary detail such as light switches, drains and shop front signs that are all solidly interactive - no fake dressing here. Also, Bond himself is simply Bond, and not some overpaid actor, making the experience a truly unique one. Voice talent is done smoothly enough, and technology provides an excuse for M and R to evaluate and assist during missions, offering some helpful clues without making the game a lesser experience.
The weapons and gadgets are all there, including a fantastic mobile telephone that R equips with lasers, grappling hooks, downloading software and electronic decryptors. Also from Q-Lab are the vehicles that allow Bond to display his driving skills in several stand-out missions that include the BMW Z8 and the Aston Martin DB5. Mission objectives are varied and interesting, ranging from taking surveillence photogrpahs to destroying underwater laboratories. In another brilliant touch, stealth can also be employed instead of the usual first-person shooter method of blasting anything that moves.
The multiplayer mode also offers a wonderful range of locations that can be used in three different game modes, and gadgets are available including jet-packs and grappling hooks. Customisable weapon sets and pick-up settings ensure that you've never tried everything this multiplayer has to offer, and the character models look solid enough. In fact, it's only marginally beaten by the diverse "GoldenEye 007", but not by much.
There are some faults in Bond's otherwise perfectly pressed tuxedo, however. Several of the single player missions are on-rails shooting, and this is really not on for those wishing to control the greatest super-spy in the world. While Bond girls do the frantic driving, you simply point and shoot at cars, helicopters and on-foot villains... not the most exiting of mission briefs for 007. Also, for those looking for more than a long weekend, the length of the game is questionable. Still, unlockable extra features and the multiplayer almost help save this flaw.
Overall, however, EA have done very well for themselves and their reputation with "Agent Under Fire". A fast and frantic game that showcases just what can be done with the Bond licence... and a licence to kill. Grab a copy while you still can, especially now that it's on Platinum for twenty Pounds. |

Not How Bond Should Be Made | 3.0 0 comments |
by timgta2002 from Rochester, NY, | Oct 27, 2003 |
THE GOOD: The Q gadgets are pretty cool. THE BAD: Enemies take nearly no damage, controls are hard to learn, graphics leave something to be desired. SUMMARY: The game is not nearly as good as they could have made it.I dont remember the storyline as it wasreally terrible. When you shoot the enemies it shows the bullets flying at the enemies but it seems as they doge the bullets or take no damage at all. I dont think this is the matrix. now the game is not completely terrible. Once you get used to the controls it is fun to just replay and kill people. I suggest that you just buy it if it is less than ten dollars. Or rent it. |

The Name's Bond, James Bond | 5.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: Almost everything. The controls are easy to get accostumed to, there are a variety of weapons and gadgets (my personal favriote is the Frinesi), the storyline makes sense and would make a great movie, the graphics are pretty good, and the FPV shooting allows you to get the most of the Bond experience! The music, while it might seem boring at times, is appropriate for each level. There are is also Multiplayer mode where you can go against your buddies, disarm bombs, protect the flag, and strive to be the Top Agent. There are 12 (I believe) challenging levels of fun, where you can drive cars, blow up your enemies in a tank, make Bond-like escapes, and more! Beside all that, the price is very good for a PS2 game. I was lucky enough to get it on sale at Blockbuster for $19.99.THE BAD: The graphics tend to get just a little bit choppy when killing an enemy. SUMMARY: This is probably the best Bond game ever made. It fully accels beyond Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies in graphics, storyline, weapons, gadgets, the FPV, and the different multiplayer modes. It is extremely fun and gets challenging toward the end. The First Person View makes a great new Bond experience. Getting a certain score on a level will allow you to get more weapons and such in it when you play it again. If you show extreme skill in a level, you will unlock new multiplayer maps. Ah yes, multiplayer. You can go up against you friends by seeing who can get the most points while you kill each other, disarm bombs, protect the flag, and kill the Top Agent to become the new one. Also, when going up against four of your buddies (with a Multitap of course), you can make two teams that can go up against each other! All of this makes for a fun and challenging experience. It is perfect in all aspects, and the price of $39.99 (unless it is on sale for $19.99), is still worth EVERY penny. |

THE GOOD: Great graphics, this game is so realistic, cool characters, neat guns and other weaponsTHE BAD: Too easy. SUMMARY: This game would have been perfect. They just had to make this game just a little bit harder. But other than that, the creators of games made yet another practically perfect game. I really liked everything about this game, and if you buy it, I will almost guarentee that you will too.

Ok FPS... | 3.0 0 comments |
by Mr Matthews48 from , , USA | Jan 30, 2003 |
THE GOOD: Good graphics, descent gameplay...THE BAD: Terrible multi-player and repetitive missions. Very easy to beat, it takes virtually no experience is any previous FPS. SUMMARY: Ever since EA Games purchased the rights to making 007 games, they have gone horribly wrong. Goldeneye is the only good 007 game to date only because it was made by Rareware. Ever since then, every 007 game to come out has had terrible gameplay and worst of all, horrible multi-player modes. EA really needs to get their act together or I'm ditching the 007 series completely.
Overall Outcome: Rent It! |

THE GOOD: Game play, fast cars, martini's, girls and guns. Good Multiplayer.THE BAD: No Sean,Timothy,Roger or Pierce as Bond. No Judi Dench or John Cleese as M and R. At least make them look like the real characters from the films. SUMMARY: Finally I can lay the Ghost of Goldeneye the game to rest being a Bond fan that was hard. This has all the components of that game except with some extra's. It's like goldeneye but with 007 Racing and better graphics, this game is highly reccomended to a James Bond Fan and any non Jamesd Bond fan it is generally a great First person Shooter. |
