Batman Vengeance

*sigh* I got this game for Christmas. It's.. ok.. no, a bit less than ok. The controls are pretty bad, the fighting and stealth systems are for the birds, and the whole gay handcuff idea is dumb. At least the cut scenes are pretty neat. Well, anyway-- the stupid mini games are too hard. That free falling one? Whose idea was that?? Well, the main game aren't as bad as the mini game-- sometimes, ad=nd I do not mean all the time, or most of the time, I mean sometimes, the fighting system is good. But all that is ruined when you have to go through the whole handcuff them or they come back up and hunt for you deal-- thats dumb. Oh, and the mandatory training sequence is totally useless. You're never going to have to go along a wall, and even when you do, it's useless. An enemy uses his sonic thermal vision which allows him to fire a machine gun at you and hit you every time, as well as see through walls-- so tell me, where do you use stealth here? Ok, and the jumping system-- stupid....

THE GOOD:
easy controls, 3 good different storys and good graphics.

THE BAD:
too short, abit confusing at times.

SUMMARY:
this game has good graphics and gameplay but it is to short it wouldn't take that long to complete but it is worth it some bits of the game are confusing but it isn't going to take that long to figure it out.this is a good game for to play about 1 hour a day.

THE GOOD:
Voice acting (!), gameplay, atmosphere, storyline

SUMMARY:
Actual gameplay is good.. but control integration is kind of akward. It's a nice touch not to be able to activate cheats until you've beaten the game at least once, but a couple of the envelopes are hear-tearingly hard to accuire.

The voice acting is all done by the actors from the TV series, which kicks ass. And the story itself is very good, making the game feel like you're interacting with a long Batman episode.

The graphics are *ok* but not great. Though it's somewhat attributed to the ingame characters being crafted to look like those from the cartoon exactly. Again, it adds to the feel of the game.

This is kind of an inconsequencial point, but Batman moves kind of like he's got a stick up his @$$ in this game.. and Robin is nowhere to be found, just Batgirl.

All in all, good game. Good experience....

THE GOOD:

+ Some good Batman-ness
+ Plenty of Bat-gadgets

THE BAD:
- That are not fun to use
- Bland environments
- Bad control & camera
- Very limited

SUMMARY:
Take your right hand and ball it into a fist. Good! Now how many fingers are you holding up? You say none? Absolutely correct! That's about how many Batman games there have been that haven't resembled a mother bird's regurgitated worm food.

Thankfully, Ubi Soft has recently bought the Dark Knight license and has brought him relatively close to his true glory. He might have made it even closer if the game wasn't hampered by a terrible control scheme and extremely limited gameplay. Oh well, Batman Vengeance is still the best attempt to personify the Caped Crusaders and all his gadgetry.
