THE GOOD:Large range of cars, good modes and awesome graphics
THE BAD:
Sadly multiplayer is a let down
SUMMARY:
Well, after a long wait, Burnout 3 has finally been released, after playing Burnout 2, I thought that Criterion couldn't do better, but I was wrong, this has outdone even that, almost everything about this game I adore. Lets get down to the basics, this is a racing game, all about dangerous driving, high speeds and risk taking, well, the danger part is pretty much like it was in Burnout 2, perfect, the game is faster than ever and, well, the risks are just awesome. Your cars can now go over 220mph, with incredible ease. The sense of speed is something of the heavens, the graphics are great too, EA seemed to have chucked in some great ideas too.
Well, you get a good range of races, Road Rage, a great example, where you have to see how many cars you can ram off the road, Crash mode, formerly known as 'Crash For Cash', is great fun, with the handy addition on Impact Time, and Crashbreaker, where your car can explode after a set amount of cars have been wrecked.
For any people familiar to Burnout, it isn't about the realism like Gran Turimso, it is all just about, flat out, fun, high speed racing, and arcade style controls, they seemed to have hit the nail on the head, there is almost nothing wrong with this game, which brings me to my last point. Multiplayer, never really one for me in racing games, the split screen doesn't work, in Team Crush (2 player Crash mode), there just isn't enough to destroy. Seems to be the only flaw in this great game. I recommend it to any racing game player. It is a must
Graphics: Shiny, smooth and utterly dazzling.
Sounds: The soundtrack is good, a good micture of rock and some alternatives, the sound effects are great too.
Gameplay: Good for either long-term play or pick up and play, generally got the arcade feel.
Controls: Nothing wrong here.
Overall: A masterpiece in my opinion. Not much I can be negetive about, it is all just pure, fun, with a lot of high speed carnage thrown in, I am off to play it some more. One last thing, this is great for long-term play, with 170+ events to race in the main game mode, and endless fun in single player arcade.
