Introduction: I went in my video club two weeks ago to check on PS2 games. I saw Dynasty Warriors 3 and said: Hum, this looks good, I should give it a try.
Believe me, giving it a try was the best thing I ever done!!! Two weeks later, I find myself playing it all day long!
Graphics: 8/10
I can't deny the graphics are greats, but I've seen better Still, the characters are well done and the FMV looks pretty neat. I also have to take a small amount of points from the fact that the graphics only appears to be texture applied on a 3D shape. Also, if you play on a two player mode and both players has a lot of enemies on their screen, some enemies will appear and disappear which is annoying, but this is a programming thing.

THE GOOD: More officers than DW2, Da Qiao, fighting Lu Bu is pretty hard, I just plain out like killing alot of people wth cool moves and combos..
THE BAD: a little glicthy, can get tedious at points, not too many battles compared to 4, you cant play Musou mode with the Silver characters..
SUMMARY: DW3 is one of the best games out for PS2..that and DW4...I mean what gets better than the fact of you tring to rule China? Well the fact that you can rule Japan is even better(thats why they made Samurai Warriors) Me and my friend John have played this game for over a year now and sometimes we get bored of it, but if we are both in a pissed off mood..thats the game to turn to..Fight the battle of Hu Lao gate and slaughter away..^.^ But the thing is about it..i mean you get more characters than you do in DW2..but still I only use 5-6 of the characters..well because the rest just kinda suck...but fightining...
THE GOOD: Lot of new officers Plenty of enemies to kill Wacky sayings by the officers at times Generally very fun to play

SUMMARY: This game is considered by many to be the best in the series. It was very easy to play, and there were wacky parts in it that seems to have built a cult following.
From DW2 there have been several improvments. First off you could actually get different weapons, 4 per character. Each subsequent weapon in your slots would be more powerful ultimately ending up in a 4th weapon which would often have an element attached to it and would have high stat-boosters on it. The elements you could have are fire, electricity and death. Fire causes an enemy to slowly lose health while they are alight, juggling them would keep this going. Lightning cause damage to surrounding people when they hit the ground. Death...
THE GOOD: Many characters to play as, decent graphics, cool (not great, but cool) music
THE BAD: Hacked plot to fit in one simply game, combat is highly repetetive, a lot of characters are similar to each other.
SUMMARY: Before this game, I didn't know jack about the Dynasty Warrior series, or anything about how it retells the tale of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. All I knew was that it had lots of enemies on a battlefeild at one time, and you were able to kill them ALL. So I bought it. And ya know what? I was addicted for a while, but with a story so hacked up from the world of detail from such a novel as ROTTK is (so i hear), i felt kinda lost whenever I even tried to begin to sort out who's name belonged to who, who was a traitor, who was who's enemy, and what the hell was going on.
So here's what I gathered. There was some sort of big war in China. This religious cult pressed on against the Empire and warriors from many parties...
THE GOOD: Amazing Characters and abilities Specific Attributes for each setting and character
THE BAD: Constant, Excessive goals. Same Thing Each Time Possible Frustration
SUMMARY: This game is the third best game I have ever played. Although you do the same thing each time you play a stage, I don't think it gets old. As long as you play a different character and not the same all the time, you can have tons of fun. It is very enterataing with all the different weapons you can upgrade to. Also, the setting (time and places) and the characters in the game actualy happened in the first hundred years A.D. so it is fun to know that these events actualy happened. This game and all its predecessors and the games after it (Dynasty Warriors 3 Extreme Legends and Dynasty Warriors 4/4 Extreme Legends) are really awesome. These are must own games.
THE GOOD: This is easily one of the best games ever made, and since it's creation it's been incredibly hard to be improved. The story (a true story mind you) is incredibly good, and exciting. The Characters are as different, diverse, and unique as they come each one is extremely cool. The Fighting is some of the best I've ever seen. It's really easy to just pick this up and play a level or two in a few minutes, while still having tons of fun. The levels are all different and fun in their own ways. The graphics are incredible, and the fmvs are all fun to watch. The voice acting is moderately good too. and also, the music is superb. Above all this game has a certain feel to it, that can't be described easily, but is very easy to see and feel.
THE BAD: Eventually the levels and characters become boring, but by the time they do, teh next DW game comes out, and it's time to switch, this game's sequel took a while to come along and save us fans, but on it's own,...
SUMMARY: Visuals: The visuals are nice with good lighting for PS2 and when you pull off your super attack it looks really cool, sepecially with more than 1 person. I forgot to mention though, I am not sure if it is done on pirpose, but the fogging is horrendous! 6/10
Audio: I didn't really like the music, but it is tolerable. I like the noises in battle though, they are good (sword noises, etc.) 5/10
Gameplay: Just wasting hordes (and I mean HORDES) of enemy soldiers continuously and then wiping out their leader. This game is repetetive and extremely boring at the same time. The controls are average and the maps are absolute rubbish. The levels all look the same and there is no varying terrain. 2/10
longevity: There are loads of characters and even more to unlock, and complting the game with all of them could take ages. 8/10
THE GOOD: There is several characters to choose from which will keep you on this game for several weeks even months trying to unlock them all. And each character in this game have 4 different weapons which have different strenghts and weaknesses. The best thing is the new moves that every character has and some have special moves were they can attack more if you tap the turbo button more. The items are very useful in battle like the double attack item that makes your attack double when you are low on health. The graphics are very good also probably one of the best graphics you can get. And the Challenge Mode is very fun were you have two different challenges on it. And the two player mode is very good also.
THE BAD: Sometimes the game slows down when you are fighting a lot of enemies or if you are playing two players and both of you unleash your special attack it slows down most of the time. And the voices are bad two because some of the people sound like...
SUMMARY: This was a great game, when i was at blockbuster i looked for a nice game that had some swords in it, me and my friend craved for a game like this.. So i got some game, i cant remember, so when i went back to blockbuster 3 months later i took a notice to this game, it wasnt in the store, as soon as i got home i set out to electronics boutique and bought it right away.. I dont know why, but i just did, i thought i had wasted my money when i looked at it, no reason, because then i popped into reality and noticed i have just spent some money i had saved up. i popped open the ps2 cd player and put the game in, hell, i loved the game, dont get this game now, its the best thing i have ever seen, but dynasty warriors 4 is coming out in a few days, oh no, think of the expectations, ill be over there reviewing that game, but this game is fun, and if you dont get dynasty...
