THE GOOD:
Plenty of action.
Like an RPG.

THE BAD:
Not-so-good graphics.
Story is hard to follow.
Tedious combo system.
Hard manuvers.
Few enemy types.
Legacy Drives are a joke.
Character is invisible.

SUMMARY:
Action games. They are everywhere. Some include the so-so Chaos Legion, and the great Ratchet and Clank games. Some just fail to deliver the fun of killing virtual bad guys, like Prince of Persia. Eve of Extinction has no problem delivering action, but other problems make this game just not worth your time and money. The story is this. Wisdom Inc. has just come up with a plan to destroy the earth. You and your girlfriend run like mad, but they capture your girlfriend's soul and turn it into a sword. Talk about a decent relationship! You must use your girlfriend-sword to flush the Wisdom dudes down the drain. Actually, the story is pretty unmemorable. I could barely remember the story no matter how many times I read the manual. The action is quite plentiful, but there are few bad guys. One swings a sword, one does some kung-fu, another can shoot you, and one big hulky guy can give you a bear hug, which you can easily escape by rapidly tapping the Guard button. But this game can play like an RPG. You can gain more experience depending on what weapon you use, and in turn you can get more health and weapon power. But some bad points turn this game into a mess. You begin with a sword, a rod, and you can go Jackie Chan with some fistfights. The thing is that each has only about 4 to 5 moves. The game's idea of a combo is to hit a guy with one weapon, and then switch to another one to pull it off. That is far to many buttons just to use an extra attack. Of course, you get an uber-powerful move called a leagcy drive. each weapon(you get more as you progress) has a different power move, but all of them are a joke. You first must collect Ley Seeds and then do a special control stick movement to use it. You see, the ley seeds never reproduce, so they are not used with freedom at all. The last bad part are the graphics. Clothes are plastered on to the characters as if they were another layer of skin. The clipping is horrendous, and the backgrounds are drab and uninteresting. I saw a bird get up and fly, and a few seconds later, the bird FLEW INTO A WALL and continued to fly as if the wall was invisible. This game is not fun, and was a waste of my time.

THE GOOD:
Various weapons, awesome graphics, the freedom to switch weapons, buttons, and the camera, bonus games, nice music, pretty colors, raven. Oh, and it's cheaper than your average game!

THE BAD:
Almots too easy, but then you have the option of playing in really hard(more hits that cause less damage to the enemy), hard, normal, and easy (if you're pathetic)modes; almost too reminiscent of 'the matrix', but then again, that's one of my favorite movies.

SUMMARY:
I would highly reccomend this game. When I first bought it, it was because I had nothing else to play and it was low-priced. I thought it was going to be your average generic Parasite Eve ripoff. But from the first scene I was hooked! Very fun, unique, and addictive. The overdrives are a nice touch. For once I can say, nice work Eidos.

THE GOOD:
Data modules are fun to collect, storyline is captivating, graphics are beautiful, combat is fluid, a multitude of weapons to choose from, and a myraid of combos to learn,

THE BAD:
The latest legacy drives are nearly impossible to complete. I wish they had developed some of the characters a bit more. No villians, with the exceptions of Raven and Agla received personalities. And I wish it took over seven hours to beat...

SUMMARY:
I first started this game as a skeptic. I was a bit biased, since I bare a grudge against Eidos. But, man, I got hooked on Eve of Extinction fast! Josh's movement is graceful, both in combat and outside of battle. The control system is very easy to get used to, and plus, you can customize it to whatever you're personally accustomed to. The enemy AI is outstanding compared to most games. Although, in the beginning of the EOE, the gameplay is extremely easy. You can get through the first third of the game by button mashing, bosses included. However, by the final stages of the game, the enemies attacking you in the hallway are tougher to beat than the earliest bosses--and by then, it's five on one! The later bosses are difficult to defeat, requiring you to examine their moves and form a strategy. I often fought a boss four times before I figured out a perfect tactic to get inside their moves. At that point, you should have mastered the combos of your legacies too. I find the way that the weapons level up (hit points and ley seeds) interesting and unique. The only real downside of EOE--which still only knocked my rating down by .5 points--is its length. I beat it in between 7 and 8 hours. There's only seven levels, unfortuneately, but each is fairly large, as well as very fun! And I found that EOE has high replay value. So, at least rent this title, if you don't have the cash to buy it. You won't regret it!

THE GOOD:
Cool range of weapons, characters, moves and puzzles.

THE BAD:
Bit short but hey, so is life.

SUMMARY:
I got this game because it looked interesting and boy was I right, it puts you in the action from the start with a whole range of weapons, combos and characters to find this is surely the best game from Eidos since Soul Reaver. The style is like matrix with a cool sound track, twisting story and heap-loads of moves to master.
