SUMMARY:
The Franchise Mode is a lot of fun to play through and the ESPN presentation makes it that much more realistic. The running game is now more realistic so don't expect to break 9 tackles and streak for a 75 yard touchdown 3 times a game anymore even though the shoulder charge is a bit too effective. Playing defense is fun since you can matchup defenders using an easy button system or just matchup your deadly CB with that slick receiver in the pause menu.
The passing game has taken a step back though from last year. There are now more INTs then deflected passes, defenders rarely swat passes down like real life. They just go for the INT everytime and that's nice when it works. This isn't that bad except the fact that it takes the fun from passing the ball, the defense is about twice the speed of the offensive players and will grab balls from totally open receivers. It gets annoying when your playing the CPU in a close game and the CPU throws 4 picks in a row making it a boring blowout, kinda feels rigged.
The sound is great with sometimes funny trash talking from the defenders. The commentators are spot on most of the time, but linger to much on one play usually talking about a play 3 downs ago. The First Person Football Mode is still fun, but it's still flawed cause you can't pass effectively from the view. All and all a good game, but just not as good as last year's.
