PS2  FIFA Takes To The Streets 4.0

THE GOOD:
  • Amount of tricks
  • Urban soundtrack

    THE BAD:

  • Small lifespan

    SUMMARY:
FIFA has been going on for years and years now (11 years I believe) but this is the first time EA have changed the way FIFA plays. This time around FIFA has gone to the streets, no more 11 aside on a football pitch, you are now on the streets flashing off all your skills.

The controls have changed a bit from the traditional FIFA, passing shooting and crossing is the same but it's the new tricks which add flavour to FIFA Street. Now the right analogue stick will pull off fancy flicks and tricks depending on which way you push it. There is also a Trick Shift, holding down L1 will also unlock another 8 tricks which can be used my pushing the right analogue in a direction. And if that wasn't enough you can also do tricks off the walls and do random tricks by pressing triangle.

FIFA Street's slogan is "It's not how many you score, it's how you score them" and the gameplay sure does live up to that. Matches differ from which settings you can pick, you can have a game where the winner is the person with the most points at the end of a time limit or you can have a game where the winner is the person to score 5 goals. To get points you need to do all the tricks and flick that you can. Tricks get you points, combos of tricks give you even more points. Doing a different type of trick in a combo will also give you more points and your aim is to get your gamebreaker meter full up. What is a gamebreaker you ask? Well a gamebreaker is a way to thump the ball past the keeper. You can kick, header, back kick, bicycle kick, volley and shoulder barge the ball into the net at terrifying speeds, get the shot on target and you have a great chance of scoring.

What the game is all about is Rule The Street. With the extensive Create a Player mode you get to create your own player and the team he will be staring in. Pick your kit and boots and start trying to form together an unbeatable team. To do this you will have to play a game of 4 aside football against the team the player is currently playing for. Beat the team and the player will join your team. As you gain new players you will also need to gain trophies. Enter tournaments and win to progress to a new set of players and areas to play in to satisfy even the most anti FIFA fan.

Unfortunately I have found that the game will get boring quickly. Once you have completed Rule The Street there won't be too much for you to do. You start to get sick of the tricks and find the game to easy. If you have a friend or sibling to play all the time then you will get more enjoyment out of the game but for somebody who plays on their own all the time will get bored of the game within a month.

    Verdict

The soundtrack on the game is good, the songs really set the atmosphere for a urban game and the game is graphically delightful. PES fans will enjoy the game, it's quite different to traditional FIFA and is worth at least a rent.

BUY FIFA SREET FOR PS2 4.7 OUT OF 5.0

    THE BAD:
There is not really any bad except for that there are not club teams and that after rule the street there is not much to do but this game is so good you forget about the miner facts.

    THE GOOD:
Brilliant tricks to confuse your opponents
That fills up the gamebreaker which releases an (almost) unstopable shot
    16 International teams
Rule the street mode is class, buy better players in 10 different tournaments

    THE BAD:
    No club teams
After Rule the street there's nowt else
    Annoying comentator

    SUMMARY:
This game is qualllity. Its 4-a-side football on the street and you use loads of tricks to get past your opponents, the whole of the right analogue stick is devoted to it. You can use the wall and everything
There s a rule the street mode when you buy players to come to your team which has you in it. There are 10 competitions in all as well as friendly games in it.
The comentator is well anyoning though.
Unfortunatly theres only 16 teams which are international ones, and you can only use them in friendlies. They're s only the rule the street mode and friendlies but it can get a bit boring.

    THE GOOD:
Graphics, gameplay, everything about it SPECIALLY THE SKILLS theres over the head nutmegs against the wall everything!

    THE BAD:
The music and the commentary. The music is mostly fast paced rubbish like dizzy rascal but there is a good song 'On a ragga tip'. the commentary is rubbish its all rude boy talk would be better if they had the 2 guys who did mean machine commentars they was well funny!

    SUMMARY:
Got every skill going! players look and react like true players! shots are amazing! Well good enviroments some seem repeated such as New york and amsterdam they are set on the same scene and so is Nigeria and italy and mexico they are set on the same scene The enviroments are intersting because in say england u get people stopping to watch the match and some trains going past and in brazil u get the odd scooter come down hills! ermmm what else can i say about this game apart from its a must get for all football (soccer) fans and if u aint a football fan this will make u a football fan !
    THIS GAME DESERVES A 10/10!

    THE GOOD:
    Exciting tricks
    Spectacular gamebreakers
    Top quality graphics

    THE BAD:
    Lack of teams
    Slightly repetitive

    SUMMARY:
Take on the world's finest (well most of them) on the streets in FIFA's brand new game. Take a team through 10 different venues in Rule the Street mode with your own created player, and buy your favourites to accompany you in your quest for glory.

The tricks are ace. Any trick you can think of, this game has it. Leave your defender for dead with the "twister" mode. And tricks are easy to do, using the right analog stick and L1. There are also neat wall tricks to beat your man by using the wall as a teammate.

The gameplay is great at first, but after you have completed "Rule the Street" mode there is little to do. Sure, "Rule the Street" is great whilst it lasts, but there is a feel of emptiness once this is done with, as only exhibition matches are available after this point.

There are 10 locations in various cities across the world. There are some really good ones like Rome, Amsterdam and London, and then some others that leave a lot to be desired. However, the game offers acute realism in this area.

Overall, a great game with great graphics, and EA Sports have the basis for an excellent series, can't wait for FIFA Street 2!
