THE GOOD:fun beat em up action, returning characters from old Final Fight, a funny storyline twist at the end of the game, some cool music, including a couple old FF tunes remixed
THE BAD:
GTA elements aren't good, graphics could 've been better, the game is kind of short, pointless and silly unlockables.
SUMMARY:
I always was a big fan of beat 'em ups, since the first Bare Knuckle and Final Fight games and I was looking forward to this game since I first heard that CAPCOM 're making it. I can say FF:Streetwise isn't completely what I hoped it will be, but it 's fun and certainly not nearly as bad as professional reviews on the Internet say.
There are two modes-the main Story Mode and the Arcade Mode. Arcade is basically the very same FF from SNES, but 3D, you simply go through the levels and beat dozens of guys. Just for some quick beat them up action. The game itself is the Story Mode. You play as Cody's brother-Kyle. Cody is being kidnapped in the beginning of the game, and Kyle is trying to find him. The story gets somewhat different close to the end of the game, it starts to feel kind of er, Evil Dead. At the very end of the game there's a very funny twist that makes FF:S an actual sequel to old SNES game. Through the game Kyle meets characters from the old FF, they even fight alongside you for some time.
I can say that I really enjoyed FF:S gameplay, it is actually fun and I didn't have any problems with anything, the camera is absolutely allright, you can turn it around the player during the game, and zoom in and out as well, and in boss fights camera is fixed. Fighting enemies is fun and FF:S didn't bore me a single moment. You can learn new combos as the game progresses, and increase your health meter, as well as the amount of damage you inflict. The only thing I didnt like is the free roaming elements borrowed from GTA-they are honestly poorly executed and dont make this game any better. In my opinion, the developers should've spend more time on the gameplay itself, and not try to make FF:S an another GTA clone, free roaming isn't essential for modern games, it's the modern gameplay that's essential. So surely FF:S could've been a better game.
Another thing I have to say-if you aren't a fan of beat'em up, and never liked such games-don't even bother to play FF:S. It is ceartainly a 3D brawler game, and not anything else.
I can also add that this is a somewhat short game-it can be finished in a couple of days really.
Overall a good game. Could've been better, but still actually fun, and not worse than last year's MK:Shaolin Monks, even better in some terms.
