Amazing Game | 4.8 0 comments |

THE GOOD: - An amazing cast of voices from Burt Reynolds to Ray Liotta - Very addictive - Incredible scenery. - Fun missions.
THE BAD: - Glitchy SUMMARY: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was my first ever GTA console game. I didn't know what to expect at first, but I was absolutely hooked after playing it the first time. You play as Tommy Vercetti, voiced by Ray Liotta, who just got out of prison. He's down in Florida to make an important deal with boss Sonny Forelli. However, it's a set up and the two cronies that were following you and the dealer are shot down. You have no choice but to ditch the money and make a run for it. However, losing that money does not sit well with Sonny. He gives you time to recollect the money or it's your head that will pay the price.
The first thing you'll notice about Vice City is the scenery. It's incredible how well they got down Miami in the 1980's. There's a lot of detail and a lot of places to go, whether it's the city area, the beach area, the rich people's area, the ghetto areas, or the tourist attractions.
Also, like all GTA games, it's free roam. This means you do missions when you want to. You can walk around, cruise around, fly around, or kill around before starting a new mission.
Speaking of missions, there's not only storyline missions, but side missions as well. While you are looking to recollect the money and taking over Vice City by storm at the same time, you can complete missions by using an ambulance, fire truck, doing crazy stunts, racing a boat, and much more. These side missions give the game a long life span and makes the game even more challenging.
On top of all this, you got a huge array of weapons such as pistols, shotguns, sniper rifles, RPGs, miniguns, and other useful "tools" to use when fighting off enemies, killing off pedestrians, and making a break from the cops. You also got a huge variety of cars from sports cars, minivans, trucks, police cruisers, helicopters and motorcycles. You got many public buildings such as police stations, pizzerias, malls, tool shops, drug stores, and gun shops. You even got clothing stores in which you can dress up in your casual clothes, getting a nice suit, or dressing up in flannel for a game of "golfing"! (clubbing people's heads off, that is!)
The only bad thing about this game is that it can be quite glitchy at times. Sometimes you'll walk through a wall and get stuck with the only option to either kill yourself or reload. There's also glitches that deplete your health. Sometimes you can fall and get stuck on the ground which will cause you to die. Other glitches are out there such as the "supercop" who could somehow arrest you when you're still driving or the infamous "blue hell". But nothing in this game is so bad that it takes away the play value. In fact, some of the glitches in this game are quite fun.
Overall, this is a great game and I totally recommend if you are one of the very few who have not yet got your hands on it. |

Miami, 1986, It Don't Get Much Sweeter Than That | 5.0 0 comments |
by BF Gangsta from Hartlepool/C, , England | Feb 2, 2006 |
THE GOOD: The fact that it is Miami and in the 80's is great enough, but there is more; just like Grand Theft Auto III, but with sunny weather, plus you get to fly planes, helicopters, and ride bikes, plus more side missions and better controls with new additions.THE BAD: Nothing bad here. SUMMARY: Welcome to Vice City, think of everything good in my Grand Theft Auto III review, and add all of this. You play Tommi Vercetti, a real bad ass who has just spent a mighty fifteen year sentence in the can. Now out, your back on the job, working for your old boss Sonny Forelli, who has sent you and your trusty sidekick lawyer to Vice City, to take care of a drug deal. As luck would have it, you get ambushed and lose the drugs and the cash, oh well. Now your mission is to find and kill whoever took the stuff. Lance Vance, the brother of the guy who got shot who you were supposed to do the deal with also wants revenge and offers to help you out. Along the way, you will come across some old faces from Grand Theft Auto III, and will take many side missions from the residence of Vice City. Roughly the size, maybe slightly bigger than Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City is a huge place to explore, with more side and extra missions available, including buying properties and doing the missions they offer to generate cash for that property, stadium racers and more things to unlock. You also get to change into other outfits, some f these are required to do a certain job, most of the time they are there for you to change into when ever. One of the big features is now you can fly helicopters over the whole city, and a great way to travel. Also, be on the lookout for tons of Easter Eggs, just like other GTA games, there are lots to find. You need this game, go and get it, it will entertain you for months. |

Greatest Game I Own | 5.0 0 comments |
by skittles07 from , WI, | Dec 18, 2005 |
THE GOOD: - Plenty to do - Lots of missions - Lots of great areas for rampages - Long game that keeps you interested - Endless FunTHE BAD: - Not much, there is a number of glitches in the game but that isnt that big of a deal as the game is amazing anyway. SUMMARY: There is soo many missions and side missions and other stuff to do in Vice City that the fun is endless. You can go around kill 1000 people in an hour. You can shoot missiles out of a helicopter. It is the best game i own. You can always find something to do in this game. You can do anything from drive boats to racing remote controlled cars. You can drive around doing drie buys of delivering pizzas. The missions keep you interested and are very fun and can be challenging if you dont cheat. The challenge is what makes the game even more fun. There are many side missions that are fun also if you dont wanna do the main missions. You can do rampages where you have to kill a certain amount of ppl in 2 minutes and then you get a reward. You can drive a wide variety of cars also. YOu can everything from sports cars to coach buses to mopeds to golf carts. The variety is amazing.
There is so much to do and the game is so good that it is a must buy. Now that it is only 20 dollars you should seriously go out and buy it if you dont have it already. |

Better than its predecessor | 4.8 0 comments |
by panzer_jager from Middlesbrough, , England | Sep 4, 2005 |
THE GOOD: Great city setting Engaging storyline Famous names among cast More entertaining than GTA3 Better characters Replay valueTHE BAD: Justifyably glitchy game Some missions can be tiresome/annoying SUMMARY: GTA Vice City was by far better than GTA3. If it wasn't for the glitchiness of the game then I'd rate it a 5/5.
GRAPHICS
The graphics in this game are superior to GTA3's graphics. The clean, crisp feeling of the city was an immediate noticable change. The animators must have spent a long time on this one. Newspapers blow along the street in the roguher areas. Sharks, jellyfish and turtles appear underwater. Glass will smash when shot at. The draw distance has been doubled since GTA3. The best feature though was the range of costumes you could choose to wear. Whether you want a Hawaiian street outfit, or a smooth Soiree outfit, you can choose from an array of clothes to change into, instead of one dull outfit.
GAMEPLAY
The style is non-linear, providing several different missions at any one time. Throughout the city, there are rampages, hidden packages, and assassination missions. And there's a lot of exploring to be done; the city is enormous, and more areas become available as more missions are completed. There are back alleys, houses, golf courses, malls and airports, as well as commercial districts, docks and a military base, any of which could contain additional side-missions.
There are also series of missions that certain vehicles trigger. Hopping into a police car or SWAT van triggers the vigilante missions, paramedic missions can be initiated from ambulances, or you can become a firefighter by hopping in a fire truck. You can even become a taxi driver or pizza delivery boy.
The weapons available in Vice City do not disappoint. Chainsaws, meat cleavers, and katanas are among the melee weapons, but there are also rocket launchers, uzis, pistols, sniper rifles, revolvers, and a baseball bat at your disposal. While you may have fun with your new arsenal, the cops have upgraded thier law-enforcement techniques also. Vans full of "shoot now, ask questions later" cops armed with uzis show up to give chase. Without body armor, it doesn't take long for these guys to pepper you with lead. When you really p*** the law off though, they'll send the Army out after you. In tanks. Fortunately, in Vice City nothing is permanent, even death. But it can be challenging to complete your missions when there are tanks blocking the roads and men shooting you with MP5s!
OVERALL
Overall, I think Vice City is a great game worth getting. Just too bad the large amount of glitches in this game let it down a lot. |

Not as good as San Andreas but still good | 4.1 0 comments |
by Kokoro from , MI, | Jun 5, 2005 |
THE GOOD: The Hawaiian theme
The main character in this game is cooler than the one in San Andreas.
Lots of cheats
Some of the missions are fun.
The map is an okay sizeTHE BAD: The graphics are weird. It doesn't look much better than a Playstation 1 game would look like.
It's too easy to get wanted stars.
The gameplay is a tad outdated. If you've played San Andreas you might know what I mean. SUMMARY: Difficulty: Medium
After getting San Andreas I decided to go out and rent Vice City. And of cours it's not better than San Andreas is I expect but it's still a good game. You a character named Tommy Vercetti do missions and cause chaos with. You get to steal almost any car of your choice but try not to do that in front of cops or you'll get caught! Unlike in GTA: San Andreas the cops actually set out spikes and road blocks when you get 3 or more wanted stars.
Do you want freedom and cause chaos or did you like GTA 3 or San Andreas? Then this is the game for you! I rate this game a 4.1/5

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City | 5.0 0 comments |
by I Am Steely Phil from St. Louis, MO, USA | Feb 27, 2005 |
THE GOOD: Everything. No seriously. There isn't one flaw in this game. The gameplay, storyline, and graphics(as cartoonish as they may be) are perfect. The soundtrack is unbelievable. This is the video game industry at its finest.THE BAD: I can honestly say that I cannot find one thing wrong with this game. Some might consider the graphics lame and a step behind today's other top titles, but I tell them that's what gives Vice City its uniqueness. Likewise, critics argue that the is somewhat glitchy. That's true, and while there is always the occasional glitch, it in no means hampers the way you play the game. If anything, it makes it more enjoyable. SUMMARY: In conclusin-Combine stellar gameplay, a superb story line, and hours upon hours of replay value, I give Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a 5/5 |

Trunksngoten13 Review On Vice City | 4.5 0 comments |
by trunksngoten13 from , , | Feb 11, 2005 |
THE GOOD: This is a pretty good game. Not as good as San Andreas but still pretty good. The cars and music is great. After all it is set in the 80s. Tommy can change his clothes with clothes icons. The story line is great in every way. It all fits so great together.THE BAD: This game is the king of glitches. There are so many. You cant swim. Game gets boring after a while. Cant fly very high in the sky. Still cant fly jets and planes.
There are others but these are the worst of them all. SUMMARY: It is a pretty good game in general. With the real feel of the 80s in Miami great looking skies and great weapons this game will get you hooked. Like I said before this game get boring after eight months. Some people though wont ever get tired of this game. I really prefer this game to tohers.
I give this game a 4.5 out of 5. |

Best GTA ever made. SA didn't have this many upgrades from its earlier version | 4.2 0 comments |
by shoe from , , | Jan 13, 2005 |
THE GOOD: Graphics are pretty good, Not as good as San andreas but still pretty good. The story is the best of any GTA and it has good interesting charactersTHE BAD: There's not much here. quite a few glitches, People complain about not being able to use gameshark cheats but the idea of this game is to be fun without cheats. SUMMARY: This was the first game i got for my PS2 and i finished if all the way through. I then got GTA3 and realised how much VC improved from it's predecesssor. Then I went and got GTA:SA Its had better graphics but it just wasn't all that much better than VC with not many new things unlike VC which added at least 15 things from GTA3. Such as jumping out of moving cars. GRAPHICS. 9/10 Quite good, still boxy hands and cars with pretty dodgey steering wheels. But still quite satisfing to look at STORY: 7/10 The best any GTA has ever offered with a large amount of the missions actually being of importance to the story. of course this is a GTA game so owing a little money makes you have to take over whole city. but we knew that was going to happen GAMEPLAY: 10/10 One of the funnest games to play ever. Since GTA3 gameplay improving things have been included, such as, JUMPING OUT OF MOVING CARS, a new targeting system, motorbikes, helicopters, possibly boats, i never used one in GTA3 i lost intrest quickly, and a whole range of mini-games and assets. CHARACTERS: 9/10 Once again some of the best GTA people in any GTA. I think i liked Ryder a little more than anyone in this GTA but still the people are cool. Villian: 4/10 Sonny Really just rings up and makes threats all the time, but when he comes to VC he brings an arsenal of Mafia so large to scare a small african army. EXCITEMENT 10/10 this is exciting as anything, i mean whats mor fun than blowing stuff to bits with rocket launchers and spas-12 shotguns Side-missions 10/10 A huge range of things to do on the side all which are greatly rewarding. Adds to the fun of messing around. which is GTA:VC's strong point LENGTH 9/10 It's nice and long for a GTA game. heaps of stuff to do and people to kill during the storyline. dandy fun Difficulty 7/10 A little bit too easy, i only died once doing the last mission, I was expecting to die about 3 times, but also has near impossible missions, Auntie paulets RC plane mission i needed my sister to drop the bombs when I steered. its that hard that one. evil. Duribility: 8/10 The pure fun of this game may want to make you play again. Chances are that you'll wan't to play SA though. even though the territory control is annoying it has a few little tweaks to the game OVERALL 83/100 (rounded to 4.15 5) Get it if you don't have SA. If you have it its just SA with a few less cars and No swimming. other than that GTA:SA is no better |

GTA in the 80's | 4.0 0 comments |
by Drop To Zero from Obernburg, NY, USA | Jan 1, 2005 |
THE GOOD: Good variety of cars and weapons Ray Liotta does a great job playing Tommy Vercetti Lots of big name stars playing voices Money actually has a purpose now, unlike in GTA III It's repetitive, after you beat the storyline missions you have to do a lot more stuff to get 100%THE BAD: The storyline sucks, well in my opinion Cops AI is stupid at times The environment can get rather boring. The map isn't all that big. SUMMARY: GTA: Vice City has a great 80's feel to it. It has lots of A-list movie stars in it playing the characters and even the main character. Ray Liotta from movies such as The Rat Pack and John Q plays Tommy Vercetti, who spent 15 years in jail. From Liberty City, he was sent to Vice City by the Forelli's. I don't get the storyline at all, you may call me stupid but I'm not exactly into mafia type of films, infact this is the closest I have ever gotten to one. It seems that all the missions you do are simply for money, you're just running around getting jobs from people so you can make money to give back to Sonny Forelli. I do admit though, the missions are a lot of fun.
But the environment, I don't know, I don't really like it. It's pretty fun at first but I think it gets boring after awhile. It has an airport area, a dock area, a beach area, a city area, a junkyard area, a mansion area, and that's about it.
I give GTA a 4/5 rating, the game is very repetitive and has great gameplay, but the storyline and environment is a little bland. |

THE GOOD: Well... like i said, 2.0-This is almost da bomb... honest!
Id like to say this game is fun, cuz it is! this game is really cool, the freedom is the best tho... just to hop on a PJC and go for a cruise to the airport or even a highspeed chase around VC, This game is a classic and will always be fun to just pop it in the PS2 and play... driven around listenin to the radio, this games sweet.THE BAD: well the downside of this game is that comparing to San Andreas, well, it sucks, period. Theres only 3 or 4 different bikes and a little selection of vehicles, not as much/good garages, its a little map, and the planes are hard to control. SUMMARY: as i was saying.... this game would be fun if you had a bigger map, and more vehicles, but all and all its a good game, and I wont ever forget it. this is probly my second favourite game too so id recomend it. thumbs up! |
