THE GOOD:
Bringing the two great stories of two great enemies together was the main highlight for this game. New fighting system. Updated graphics which is so far some of the best on PS2 so far.

THE BAD:
Some dodgy graphics, e.g throwing enemies through walls. Some long loading times.

SUMMARY:
If your not a fan of the series then don't bother picking it up, You won't have a clue about the stories (Which is the main part of the game) or the history, which simply means, you'll get lost in what is a baffling and complicated exercise to follow Raziel and Kain as they constantly travel through time. This game does'nt really go to length to describe the past games which you need to know about to play this game or I say again you'll get lost and will only be playing for the battles.

THE GOOD:
Tha game has hot graphics and it has a good story line to go along w/ tha other Legacy of Kain's. I've never had a game that i actually was addicted too, this game owned my soul!!!!

THE BAD:
This game should continue so it could be longer and better. But it still good.

SUMMARY:
This game was the best Legacy of Kain yet. I have all of them, but none is as good as this one. The way u use telekenetis powers iz tha best. If u want tha best game this year, pick this one. It hot tha way u switch from Raziel to Kain. They both have hot powers and combo attacks. The popwers of Raziel has grown up to be as good as Kain. And Kain too grew from his Blood Omen games. And you cannot forget the Soul Reaver sword. This gives Kain all his moves. But i hope they can come w/ another one to continue and add on to tha story, or even have a game where it takes place in tha past when Raziel a vampire before "Soul Reaver" I give this rate a 4.5 for being so good.

THE GOOD:
multileveled stroy, huge enviroments to explore, fun combat, puzzles will make you think, first rate graphics, kickin audio

THE BAD:
tricky camera

SUMMARY:
awsome story, beautiful enviroments, fun combat...thats more than enough for any game...it's one minor problem is the camera which sometimes affects control...ie leaps of faith...thus 4.9 instead of a perfect 5
so here we are once again in Nosgoth and we get to play as both Kain and Raziel...they are in the same spot but 500 yearts apart...you need to explore huge enviromentrs solving puzzles (some easy and some difficult) to get power ups for their Reaver which you can switch on the fly in combat, charge, and unleash powerful Reaver Abilities...I'm impressed at the growth of the Reaver throught the LOK series

THE GOOD:
Battle mechanics, story, architecture.

THE BAD:
camera

SUMMARY:
This Latest installment of Legacy of Kain has been improved and changed but still has that gameplay that makes it fun. The fact that you switch between Raziel and Kain during the storyline is great. I think that the series has been needing somthing like that for a while, but i never thought about it untill it came up. Unlike in previous titles where you can pick up weapons and use them, in this installment, you only use one weapon for each character. Kain has the reever blade and Raziel has the Wraith blade. This is good in the fact that you get familiar with one weapon instead of switching around. The arcitecture in this game is beautiful. Don't be suprised to find yourself awing for the sheer amount of detail that has been put into the game. The battle mechanics are also great. The lock on works very well and doesn't get in the way like in other games. And the telekinesis is a good addition. Use it a lot since it can clear the screen and the TK meter recharges itself. Aerial combos are also great. The camera is still a little glitchy, but overall this game is great. It is a must have for all LOK fans, and even for people who aern't too familiar with the series.

THE GOOD:
The visuals and storyline. The flow of the cinematics follows the same style as Soul Reaver 2, but the detail is increased. What more do I need to say about the storyline? Fans of the series won't be disappointed, but it has a slightly different feel than the other games.

THE BAD:
The camera and special attacks. The lack of a rear camera lock makes certain scenes frustrating at best. The special attacks are difficult to preform, and lack any real value.

SUMMARY:
This game was above and beyond my hopes for the sequel to Soul Reaver 2. I was amazed at the detail put into the environment, and the way interaction with it was opened up more so than SR2. Defiance moves away from the rest of the series by working more on fighting than on puzzles. Puzzles are still present, but the emphasis is on action. Following this vein, I was amazed at the number of Reaver enhancements provided. It added a new dimension to combat, combined with the Reaver spells. My only complaint about combat was the difficulty in preforming the special attacks. You must use the analog joystick in the direction of attack, while simultaniosly pressing one of the attack buttons. If it was the directional buttons, I would have been able to pull them off regularly, instead of by accident. The camera was hard to control, making jumping difficult, and use of the manual control for TK awkward. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game, for both the fans and those new to the series alike. Time

THE GOOD:
Fantastic graphics with challenging puzzles and for followers to the series, a continuation of a fascinating storyline.

THE BAD:
Static gameplay for both Kain and Raziel, the only difference between respective move lists is their unholy style.

SUMMARY:
This game almost got a 4 out of five rating. I was quick to pick up defiance and spent a sleepless night helping both Kain and Raziel meet their ultimate destinies. i've followed this series since its incarnation in Blood Omen. Fans are given a grateful continuation of an engrossing plotline and newcomers pick up the pace quickly. The graphics are sharp, with particular attention to detail on some of the more gothic aspects of the game. For instance, make sure you get a close look at the intricate patterns on the wall textures. It may seem like eye candy, but matched with stellar lighting effects really put you in the mood to devour souls and drink pint after pint after pint of sweet...sweet delicious blood. one thing which is still infuriating even now as I venture throught the title again is the camera. I like to be able to see where I'm going. Defiance does a poor job of letting you look forward. Instead it relies on cinematic-type 3/4 angles. It works for battles, however when you begin to wander through the endless corridors of the vampire citadel and wonder just where in the sweet f*** you are, you'll know what I'm talking about. The gameplay is revamped and tweaked from soul reaver 2, not so much blood omen 2. The developers made sure this time people wouldn't gripe about how easy the battle system is. In the previous two Soul Reaver games and the PS2 Blood Omen, it was too easy to jump over and away from your enemies. With defiance, when the automatic battle mode kicks in, both Kain and Raziel are limited to quick dodges and straight up jumps. Battling requires attention, and while it takes an enormous amount of stupid playinig to get mauled by the enemies, but when it happens it happens bad. Next on to what frustrates me the most, the fact that two separate beings, one the last king of the vampires, and the other a neo-formed devourer of sould, have exactly the same move set. Sure their patterns are somewhat different and require an ounce of brain power to distinguish, yet for the most part Raziel does what Kain does and Kain does what Raziel does. That's not so important. I picked up this game for its fantastic story and it delivered 110 per cent. to wander through a revamped vorador's mansion and to see the pillars restored and in decay and talk to ariel (the defiled pillar guardian) once again was more than I could ask for. one last thing, I was really upset the character doesn't have the ability to pick sword and spears off the static landmarks. I mean wasn't that the best part of Soul reaver 2? That noise the vampires make when you impale them. this is a renter, for sure, and make sure you have it for a good week. That's all ~s İİİ.8 out of 5
