Good World locations (Tarzan's Jungle, Peter Pan's Neverland and London, etc.)
Zelda-like real time battles
Fun power-ups selection
Mini games and cameos
THE BAD:
Slight camera angle shifts sometimes
Gummi Ship building was confusing at first (but fun once I figured it out).
SUMMARY: For the jaded out there, take heart--this game appeals to all ages, races, sexes, etc. Kingdom Hearts is fun, fast and VERY playable.
Unfortunately, most of the PS2 choices out there that have great story, good voice and music talent and satisfying replay value seem to be demon-oriented RPG's like Devil May Cry and Onimusha 2 (and I can't...
Kingdom Hearts is essentially a story about the yin and the yang; the light and the dark. We all have both inside and it's ultimately our choice in what influences us. Even this collaboration between Square and Disney can be applied, in a less dramatic way: Disney provides a counterbalance in their childlike innocence to Square's more mature stance. RPG fans have been waiting to see if this conglomeration of attitudes melds; indeed, it does.
Sora is a young boy on Destiny Island. Along with his friends Riku and Kairi, the group dreams of setting sail to other worlds. One night, however, Sora ventures forth into a horrible storm, which causes him and the island to disappear. Meanwhile at Disney Castle, Black Mage Donald discovers King Mickey is missing. In a letter penned by his majesty, it urges Donald and Goofy to find the "Key Bearer," who is the only hope of saving all the worlds from the Heartless.
The story is nothing deep or groundbreaking, though it is...
THE GOOD: Graphics, different worlds, different weapons, battle style
THE BAD: Camera, Gummi ship
SUMMARY: A Squaresoft game with Disney characters? What were they thinking? That's what I thought anyway when I first saw the Kingdom Hearts commercial. Despite misgivings, because of Squaresoft's great reputation with me, I bought it. I'm glad I did.
You play as Sora, a 14-yr-old boy from Destiny Islands. With his friends, Riku and Kairi, he longs to travel to other worlds. As you build-up with Final Fantasy X and VIII characters such as Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie, you collect the materials for a raft. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the Heartless invade your world and land you in Travis Town. And this is where the game really begins.
The battle system is real-time, and in addition, you can also cast magic, and summon Disney characters to aid you in tough battles. Summons include Bambi, Mushu, Genie, Tinker-bell, and Simba....
THE GOOD: Good Story, Good Gameplay, cool battle system, it mixes RPG and Action, and guest appearances by Final Fantasy & Disney characters.
THE BAD: The camera angles can be bad at times. It’s a bit of a button mashing game.
SUMMARY: If you do not like button mashers then this game is not for you. A mix between RPG & action, this Square & Disney collaboration works beautifully. You battle with 3 people in your team. Sora the main character, Donald Duck & Goofy. You can also design a Gummi ship, it's like a mini-game, use a wide variety of parts to build it. The storyline is great & is filled with the magical world of Disney along with appearances of popular final Fantasy characters. So for the first time you here their voices. It is a must for most gamers, this game is fun and will have you playing it for a long while. Close to perfection.
THE BAD: You're kind of just "dropped" into the story and don't learn much till' the end

It's been a long time since Squaresoft has released a game, 9 months to be exact, which was Final Fantasy X back in December of 2001. If anyone's as much a Squaresoft fanatic as I am, then I'm sure you've also been anticipating Kingdom Hearts for quite sometime now, because 9 months is just way too much for me to go without playing anything from Squaresoft. However, the 9 month transition period from Final Fantasy to the start of a new franchise maybe has well been worth the wait, and Squaresoft along with Disney, has created a monster of a game. I'm also pretty sure that a lot of people dismissed Kingdom Hearts just because there were Disney characters in it and they're too mature to be playing a game with cartoon characters in it, but hopefully those...
THE GOOD: Great gameplay and pretty good aiming.Good plot, and also very fun to play
THE BAD: NOTHING
SUMMARY: This game is one of the best PS2 RPGs i have played for a while and i like it alot,The game is great and is challengs your skill. You have to talk to people to get hints of what to do.Another good thing is the gummie ship thing they added when you go from world to world. That was a good add in.
THE GOOD: The graphics, the storyline, the plot, about almost everything
THE BAD: The only thing bad was that it was too short
SUMMARY: This game was one of the best games I have ever played, please buy it and don't bother to rent it because renting and then buying will waste more money, just buy it, it's awesome, but it is just a tad too short, but it was challenging, this game will keep you busy for a good long time.
THE GOOD: Storyline, Characters, and mega good game overall
THE BAD: Big Shoes, short game, not many difficulties.
SUMMARY: This game was very great and was very creative in the plot and the characters. When I first got this game, I didn't expect much, but man was I wrong!! This game was great. The storyline did go in pretty deep and included good battles. The commands are pretty simple to get used to and the cliffhangers leave you waitin' for more. There are many surprises in stored in the game and has many mysteries that leave you stumped. And this game has some of the most loved and popular characters from the Final Fantasy Series. These chracters include Leon, Cloud,Sephiroth and much more. Also, there are many sidequests to the game that leave you with plenty to do after the game. Also, there is a secret in this game that you will have to find out for yourself. This game is terrific, need i say more?
THE GOOD: The plot, characters, how Aerith is brought back (hehe) and of course, Squall's sexy voice...*drool*
No, to be more serious, it was really cool. When i first heard Disney and Square were gonna make a game together I was like "What the hell is Square thinking?!" but then I gave the game a chance, rented it, and fell in love. It has everything any other RPG has, but with a little more childish fun and easier gameplay for those of us that like to see the FMV's and pay attention to the storyline, like its a movie, rather then those of us that like to hit "Attack" fifty million times until the boss is dead, like in other Final Fantasies.
THE BAD: That Goofy and Donald were the other two main characters in your party the whole time. That was the only thing I disliked about Kingdom Hearts.
SUMMARY: Kingdom Hearts isn't only for little kids, i think when Square made it, they had in mind that it was for all ages. I like Final...
Now I myself aren't a RPG guy most of the time. But, I have done FF7, so I saw no harm in comendeering a game from the same devolopers. The game is great for RPGers, this is a must buy for them, and rightly so to. The theme does actually fit to the gameplay in a good way, so you won't be dissaponited. Free-Roaming style battling mixed with Real Time Battling makes this a fresh retreatment from those annoying random battles you migh find in, say, FF. The story is of course, by SQUARE, so you know it's good with that slight romantic feel, and you'll actually want Sora to give the popau fruit to Kairi. (Long story)
Either way, love 'em or hat 'em, the Disney Characters help make KH a worthy game for any RPGer's collection, ranging from your Goofy to your Chipmunk.
