THE GOOD:
good storyline, nice minigames

THE BAD:
smouth graphics, only 20-25 hours of gameplay...

SUMMARY:
Legaia2 : Dual saga is the second game in series of Legaia Games(the first one was on PSOne).

Graphics:

7/10---Smouth graphics, without FMVs, and some "cool things". Not bad battle graphics and moves presentation...

Sound:

9/10---The game has some nice music tracks, that can help you some hours leveling up without boring!

Gameplay:

9/10---A lot of minigames suck as cooking(with a lot of ingriedients), weapon making, and the sweetest one is that when you reenter the town or village there are new scenes! Good casinos minigames... But the game has no difficult bosses , also has guild...
Overall
8/10---Good one, must lay for game experience! have some minuses like three times reenter sewers under Dolpin castle... but anyway...

PS2  An RPG that came alittle too late to America... 3.2

This game was released in Japan almost a year before
being released here, which explains why the game has
dated graphics. But obviously, graphics isn't
everything. This game can be enjoyable for begginers
or average RPG gamers, but maybe veterans of this genre
should skip it.

-The gameplay, just like the first LOL is actually extremely good, you don't just press a button and let
the characters do the rest, you have plan out very
well how you are gonna hit the enemy with four
selections (UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT), sometimes, you may
actually find an art combo which are very fun to watch.
There are normal arts, super arts, hyper arts,Variable
arts (two players combine their combos for an extremely
devastating attack)And mystic.watching art combos are
very fun, until they end up wasting your time.

-you also have origins, powerful beings that help you
out, like summons in FF.

-The graphics in this game i have to say are not so good, the graphics ingame are a bit better, but still
nothing compared to recent RPGs. The Enviorments are
well detailled,or should i say only the towns and
forests, but definetly not the other locations where
you battle, which look very bland.

-One thing i love about this game is that you may not
have a whole lot of freedom of movement (due to the few locations that are in this game), but you sure have alot of freedom of saying what you want and whats
on your mind. This game gives you a tremendous number
of times where you are given choices on what to say
or what to do, and actually depending on what you say,
Your character's personallity may change a bit, and you'll realize this when you notice that the dialogues
of Lang your main character will change. It's too bad
that this does not affect the story, but it's still very entertaining when you beat the game and decide to start over, but this time you decide to use diferent
responses.

This game can be very very fun, but after you beat the game, there really isn't much to do, except for joining a tournament and......thats about it. The
combat system of this game is great, and so are the
choices you are given in the game, it's just too bad
that the graphics, little replay value, no visuals
of the things you customized on your characters,
same old story of saving the world, no talking audio,
only reading dialogues, and a VERY hard difficulty
had to drag this puppy down, it's still a good average
RPG, but not much innovation.

THE GOOD:
i love this game stemming from it's original roots legend of legaia. it's a fun game with a whole lot of stuff to do.(without getting too technical) it has the best combat system, easily or 100 hrs of play, nottoo easy to where you feel you've wasted your selection. the character or pretty fun too.

THE BAD:
i really would have like to see the equipment you equipped on the the characters instead of just seeing your attributes go up. i would have really minded but equipped items and outfitts were present on legend of legaia but were left out on legaia 2. all together there's not much different from the legend of legaia wich is not all that good consdering it's on the the psone, but still doesn't look bad at all. it has a corny story but they all do as far as i'm conserned. save the world blah, blah, blah.

SUMMARY:
i really dont compare thiss game to final fantasy x because i beaten leagaia twice and really it's the only rpg that i've played other than legend of leagaia. i've only recent begun to play final fantasy x. but like all the rest it's not as good as that but but can definitly hold it's own against the rest od the competition.

THE GOOD:
This game is my favorite game of all time. To me, the graphics aren't the best, but they definitely are good enough
Sound-the sound is very good, the music is hauntingly sweet and attentioning
Battle-This is what I define to me, the best fighing system of all time. Nuff said
Feel-This game has a feeling of medieval properties. It is extremely hard for me to describe it. But, I can say is that the feeling made me play it for like 4 or 5 hours a day. It is jus....I can't put it in words.
This game isn't too easy or too hard, it is leaning more on hard, but not like immposible to beat.
Weapons, attacks-Througout this game, you will need to increase your attack strenght, armor, and skills. You need to get and make more powerful weapons and armor to get far in the game. This makes you think and stratagize more. And of the nearly 100 different armor, skills and weapons for each character, you will create heros to your very likings

THE BAD:
Sound-The voices of the characters in battle nearly if ever match the movement of the mouth and attack, that gets annoying.
Battles-The monsters and bosses aren't memorable and sometimes fall short of exciting, the only monster that fit in this catagory are the 3 knight brothers, and Bubba.

SUMMARY:
Overall-This is only my opinoin....GET THIS GAME. rent it first though, cause this may not be the game for you.

PS2  Avalon...the Wannabe Sephiroth 4.5

THE GOOD:
The kept most of the battle plan from the original, Legend of Legaia. Some new features though, such as the origins. Avalon is a great bad guy, and fits right up in the range as Sephiroth, or Ansem.

THE BAD:
Not very memorable characters besides Avalon. Rauss's armor looks cool. But I can't stand his voice. Marienne, Elliot, and Doplin...They are more annoying than Tidus from FFX!!! Thank god, those three are bad guys and not playable characters. Also, some of the story mimicks Grandia Xtreme's and Wild Arms3's, in the way that the villians' of all three games want to change the world into a place tht is fit to their liking.

SUMMARY:
I found this game to follow some nice traits of the Super Nintendo RPGs. With a more solid storyline. This is what an epic adventure is all about.

PS2  A nice game to play for fans of the Genre 4.3

I am a fan of the first Legend of Legaia as it was one of the first RPGs I played. However, I just figured that since it got awful reviews, it would never get a sequel.
The moment I heard of the sequel, I was filled with excitement. The day it came out, I bought it and played it. And the game was great! The 'Arts' made a triumphant return, and I was satisfied with the game.
One of my favorite things about this game is the way everything feels. When you are in Nohl, you can feel the sense of community. When you camp, everything seems relaxed. When you are in dungeons, there is a sense of foreboding - knowing that a new enemy could be encountered at any time.
Also, later in the game, you can buy 'Heaven's Path's', which prevent any encounters. I always stock up on these, because once you get the dragon, you really only need the Hunter's Guild to level up.
Oh yes, the Hunter's Guild. That was great! You are given 'quests' to fulfill. By participating, you can meet and flesh out a character named Stiel, who I thought was awesome. Also, at a point in the game, your characters will be seen at towns you go to as long as you aren't on a quest for the Hunter's Guild. You can get to know your characters better, and see humorous events.
The graphics and sound fit the game well. I think my biggest problem with this game is the story. Much of the plot was extremely predictable. The only thing that really surprised me was learning that Ayne was going to have a son, and I am pretty sure that is optional. Again, characters like Stiel help spice things up, but the phrase 'Been there, done that' comes to mind. There just wasn't anything new in terms of story.
The only other problem with the game I have lies in characters talking. Hearing them talk is great, but it isn't uncommon for a character's voice to say something slightly different then they were supposed to. Oh, and some voices *Cough Cough* Raynof and the Red Knights *Cough Cough* were just annoying.
Overall, Legaia 2: Duel Saga isn't perfect, but it is enjoyable and will satisfy fans of RPGs. As for me, I will always remember this game.

PS2  A disapointment.... 3.8

Well the reason why I purchased this game, was because of my experience with the first one of the series, which was a good one, obviously. I had great expectations for this game. As soon as it was released I purchased it. Brought it home, and got started on it right away. After the first 10 hours or so I was not impressed. The storyline, was a little awkward. Seemed a bit rushed. It just didn't capture you like the first one did. This one got even more boring as the story went on.

[Story/Plot]
It is about a young boy who goes on a journey to retreive the stolen, Mystical stone, the Aqualith, which kept his village alive. Supplying it with watter. Without it, there was no chance of surviving. It would only be a matter of time before everyone died off. At first his journey was just to retrieve the stone, but as he ventures off, he learns more and more, about the stone. And what it is capable of. Now he must save the world...

[Characters]
Instead of only having 3 usable characters, like the first one, Legaia, you get 5. The creators of this game,SCEA, obviously didn't put too much effort into the characters personalities. So they were quite boring. And yes, the main character must be in battle at all times. You cannot switch him out...

[Visuals/Sound]
The graphics were breathtaking. The sound, was alright. It got a bit repeatitive. But they could've done better with the graphics, during battles. There was Indeed voice acting. It was lame. It definately needed alot of work. The creators of the game, rushed through it...

[Battle System]
This was the strong point of the game. One of my favorite types of systems. Instead of learning new attacks, as you level up, you must find them yourself. To attack you must enter a certain combination in. Such as, left, up, down, right. If you are succesful in finding a new attack, the screen will notify you of it by saying, New Art, and then the name of it. Once this had been done it automatically registers it onto your techniques list. As you level up you, the more slots you get, meaning the bigger and deadlier the combo. Even how much I love this system, I was still disapointed in it. They could've added new features, to spice things up a bit.

[Conclusion]
Overall, it was a decent rpg, it was very short though. It only took me a little bit over 20 hours to conqeour.I wouldn't recommend buying it, right now. I suggest renting it, or waiting until the price goes down.

PS2  A Good Adventure, That Isn't Final Fantasy?!? 4.5

THE GOOD:
Excellent combat system, in my opinion, the best I've seen in any adventure game. Great solid graphics, not world beating, but solid enough to make a good impression. Good detailed story, and more than enough sidequests to keep experienced players coming back for more. A tough challenge for new-comers, requires considerable patience.

THE BAD:
Occasionally disjointed graphical work and speech and sound are not always syncronised.

SUMMARY:
Whenever you consider an adventure game, everyone looks to Final Fantasy for guidance. I myself love the Final Fantasy series, but in Legaia there is something different and new about its approach to this heavily populated genre. Not the best looking game, or has it sound that will be memorable for many years, but what it does have is substance. A believable story with a good solid main character. Takes a good time for the story to develop and there is plenty to see and do. Additional characters to the team are well detailed and have a depth of character that is refreshing. Furthermore, the game represents a substantial challenge with the game welcoming the player in with simple enough fights, but then the difficulty increases at a frightening rate. Furthermore, don't think that you're going to simply walk over any enemy in the game, especially bosses. Even the simpliest looking battles can quickly turn ugly. Customising of weapons is don't via collection of raw materials from random fights throughout the landscape. Although new weapons and armour can be purchased from local traders in the numerous towns you'll encounter, any player would be adviced to take a look at the materials needed to upgrade and seek them out. In addition to this, camping gives the player the opportunity to customise equipment, chat to the other characters which is one method of finding out a lot about each individual member of the team, and most importantly, cooking. Cooking represents a method of boosting the ability of you're team for a short-period of time, although you only start with a few recipes, travelling the world increases your knowledge and therefore the benefits of cooking.

Additional support for the team is through the use of origins, special ethereal beings that live inside members of the team. Their powers range from healing to destroying the battlefield with a shower of flaming meteors. Very satisfying! Origins gain levels with experience, as do the main characters, and with more experience comes more power and more importantly, strongly and more useful abilities.

Finally, something new for the genre. By travelling the world, interacting with people and completing various tasks, your characters can gain nicknames that define them and their achievements. Nothing beats going to the battle arena and seeing your name with accompanying nickname beside it. Some are simply funny such as being labelled a 'Bully', others are more impressive such as 'God of Gamblers'. Gaining them all is a massive task in itself.

Overall, a truly wonderful piece of gaming which highlights something that may have been forgotten over the last few years.

'Just because it isn't Final Fantasy, doesn't mean that its not an excellent and hugely playable adventure'

My advice to anyone reading this, buy it and have a look into this excellent effort. Not as good as Final Fantasy, but a worthwhile addition to any collection.

THE GOOD:
Finally a sequal to one of the greatest RPGs ever made!

THE BAD:
The bad.......? Well the sequal sucked.

SUMMARY:
After demolishing the first of the series (The Legend of Legaia) it was only smarts for a sequal to be produced. Once I acquired my copy of this game I quickly began to notice the major differences. There's been many changes such as Hyper Arts, Variable Arts, etc... some were great and some should have been left out. With the combination of terrible graphics, *bleep* storylines, boring sidequests and seemingly infinate gold this game was extremely difficult. Not in the way you would think though, I've never had this much trouble staying awake for one game in my life. Difficulty? There's not a single challenge throughout this entire game, which is why the game reminds me so much of a lame sports game. But if you'd never played the flawless Legaig 1 and start on this one then you'll not see much of a difference. But if you played / worshiped it religiously then you'll realize that this game blows and worship the kid who made rentals. Dont buy, rent. Its too short and may take at most 3 days to finish.

THE GOOD:
Long but not too long. plenty of mini games great story lines and characters

THE BAD:

SUMMARY:
LOved it, great story line the fighting system is wonderful and the remarks that they say are funny. I like the splitting up in towns and getting to mess with people and the people in your party. It can be funny at times and suspensful at times. It made me dry made laugh and made me spill juice on my good pants.
