If you enjoy watching some form of football or another, or just like the sports genre in general, Madden 2005 is absolutely necessary to make your playstation collection complete.
Like every previous installment in the Madden series, the main gameplay has you out on the field controlling your favorite players and transforming that crappy team into a feared dynasty. Make trades, sign free agents, release old geezers, upgrade your player's stats in training camp, and make all the other moves you need to create that All-star team.
New to 2005 is the hit stick. Pushing the right analog stick towards the ball carrier will make the defensive player you're controlling make an extremely hard tackle, increasing the chances of a fumble. Of course, high risk always comes along with high reward. It's very easy to miss a tackle when using the hit stick, so just make sure you aren't the last line of defense when using this feature.
Playmaker control is also returning in this game. Make any pre-snap decisions you need to to run your team like Peyton Manning. You can do everything on the defensive side of the ball from double teaming Randy Moss, to shifting your line or linebackers to one side of the field, to creating an all out blitz! When you're on offense you have the ability to change the direction your back is running the ball or tweak your receiver's routes.
Madden 2005 is a must have for football fanatics. Whether you're trying to turn that crappy team into an elite franchise or beefing up your online stats, you'll always have something to do in this awesome installment to the Madden series.
