THE GOOD:
Over 50 characters spanning from both the Marvel and Capcom universe. This adds to the overall value of the game. With this many how could you get bored easily?

Up to 3 on 3 battle, a first (for it's time) in a Marvel/Capcom game.

THE BAD:
This game is out of print so it's very hard to come by. I still have this from when it first came out and it was one of my best game decisions ever on not to sell it.

Characters require lots of points to unlock (about 800+) and during battle you only gain about 10 points so it takes a long time to get enough points for characters, stages, etc.

SUMMARY:
This game has no real plot as it combines to company's characters into one. Of course there is no real main character either except for the major characters of each side I would say. I prefer it that way though, with this many characters it would be very tough to keep track of everything that happens story wise.

The major characters I say would have to be Ryu, Ken, Bison, Guile, Megaman from the Capcom side. From the Marvel side I usually think there is more of them for some reason but they are Wolverine, Spider-Man, Venom, Silver Samurai, and Magneto. Most of these characters are my preferred ones because they are easy to use and can pull off some outstanding combos.

It's a 2D fighter so you can basically expect what you've seen before. Most players, me included, prefer the 2D fighter over a 3d. Simply because you don't have to go through the complicating task of side stepping and what not. There aren't to many things that will make the game complicating as well.

I would have loved to see some type of online mode for this game. Usually online modes don't appeal to unless it has some sort of online mode. Sadly this one does not. I can see why though, this game was an early one so it's reasonable for not having such a mode.

It gets kind of annoying for me not to hear to much audio or voices from the characters. Seems to me like I'm just looking at a muted TV during gameplay. And the tunes aren't to good either, they just don't seem to be good sounds for a fighting game since I usually like more fast paced sounds to accompany my fights.

About the tag teams, these are great because you can mix and match teams to try and make the perfect one. You can even combine all three finishers from your characters during gameplay! I really like that feature because if your in a tight spot they can get you out of it. To bad they don't have mixed names like in Marvel vs Street Fighter though.

I'm not to fond of the controls for this. If you're more of a Street Fighter/Capcom you'll see why. The keys you have to input for finishers don't match up with those of the real fames so it gets annoying trying to learn new combinations.

For a 2D fighter I'd say these are good graphics. I mean they have all the real elements such as shades, colors, etc which makes the game visually appealing. And of course my favorite part about the graphics is the backgrounds. They are designed to move and are more graphically updated which means they are better looking but they match with the character's graphics so it looks perfect.

This game is somewhat repetitive because all there is to do are VS modes and the Arcade mode in which both you can earn points unlock the characters and extra stages. Though the inclusion of the extras as I mentioned earlier make it all the worth while.

The game can last you a very long time if you try to go for unlocking everything by fighting and not just leaving on your PS2 for "lazy points". Plus the 50+ plus characters will keep you busy up until the point you have learned all of the finishers combinations, combos and basically just mastered a few of them.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good fighting game. But beware of it prices, even Gamestop sells it for about $50 so only if you truly want this game should you get it. If the prices weren't as they are though I think everyone should be going for it. It just has a very fun fighting style and it is hard to put down.
