THE GOOD: The guns Sounds The agents The different attacks and stunts you can do with Niobe or Ghost Two characters You can't play as Neo (that's good because the game wouldn't really be fun if you can kill enemies in one blow) The bullettime function Exclusive film footage from the Matrix Reloaded Graphics An alternate ending that lets you avoid the annoying Smith chase HackingTHE BAD:
The last level (the Sentinels are quick little bastards) Some levels are boring (the post office, sewers and Chinatown)SUMMARY: Enter the Matrix was an awesome game that bought in early 2005 (a bit late from the 2003 release) and I thought it was boring and slow. I picked my game up in March 2006 and I can't stop playing. I shouldn't have judged the game by the cover (the cover is actually cool with the lights). I beat Ghost's story and I loved the game. I'm almost done with Niobe's story and I'm still loving it. The action sequences are awesome and I can't stop playing. The game is set during the Matrix Reloaded time and shows film footage that answers questions and lets you play it. The freeway chase scene in Reloaded is playable. You saw Ghost in the car when Niobe caught Morpheus right? Who was shooting at the twins? He was. You can play as Niobe and catch Morpheus. Read for the full review.
Game play - 8 / 10 The game play was really cool. You could fight in the air, you can fight in bullettime, disarm enemies, dodge bullets, run off walls and kick enemies in the air and smack him. The game is true to the movie and it works. There's even a cool film footage with Monica Bellucci kissing Ghost or Niobe (the kiss is mysteriously longer with Niobe) and with Ghost talking to the Oracle. You can fight Trinity (with Ghost) and fight vampires, werewolves, guards, SWAT, Agents and police officers. The agents are scary to fight without unlimited health because they can dodge your bullets and they can whack you if you tried to smack them. I like this game because when you cheat, you don't feel guilty because there is a program made for the cheating so Shiny entertainment expected you to cheat.
Sounds - 7 / 10 The sounds are not great but they ain't bad. They get annoying because it's in a loop sequence so you'll lost patience and you'll probably turn the music and sound off. I can't say much about the sounds except they're good and they're true to the actions.
Controls - 9 / 10 The controls were a bit clunky the first playthrough but you can get used to it. R1 is to pull out your gun and to shoot. Square is to put your gun away. L1 is to use bullettime and go slower. Triangle is to chop with your hands, Circle to kick and X is to jump. It's simple. The camera angles aren't bad and I like them.
Story - 10 / 10 I might sound like a giddy school girl but the story is so awesome! It's true to the Matrix Reloaded and it shows what happened behind the scenes with Ghost and Niobe. The story goes in order and you can't lose sight of it.
Graphics - 7 / 10 The graphics are good but some of them are glitchy. If you ran to one part of the room to the other, an object that you couldn't see would appear. If you fought a vampire the game would slow down because the vampires are really fast. The graphics could have been better but they're fine now.
Replay - 8 / 10 The chances are you'll get bored with one person if you beat their story but you can choose the other and each has a different story. You could go back and play each of their stories on easy, normal and hard so you got 6 different choices to choose from.
8 + 7 + 9 + 10 + 7 + 8 = 49 divided by 6 = 8.17 (ish) divided by 2 = 4.1 (ish)
I hope you like this review and it helped make your mind free to buy this game. |

THE GOOD: Two campaigns Lots of weapons Decent amount of variety Bullet timeTHE BAD: Poor graphics Agents Hacking game Sound is terrible SUMMARY: Enter the Matrix is another game where you slowdown time and shoot bad guys in slow-motion simiar to games like Max Payne and Dead to Rights. Sadly, Enter the Matrix is not any better than either of these games.
Enter the Matrix is actually set at exactly the same time as The Matrix Reloaded but it is played in a completely different perspective. In the game you can choose to play as Niobe or Ghost. Despite the two characters are simiar to play as but sometimes the levels can be completely different depending on which character you have chosen. Sometimes they just have different roles. In a driving section, if you play as Niobe you get to drive the car but if you are Ghost, you ride shotgun taking out police cars and anybody who gets in your way with your MP5 sub-machine gun.
While that is pretty cool, actually playing the game is very average. The hand-to-hand fighting is decent but the effort you put into it is not very high. Your Focus attacks make things easier. But you can do cool moves like jumping of a wall and giving a guard a kick to the face as you come down. Problem is that each time you a cool move, it will look exactly the same using the same animation over and over again. You disarm guards while unarmed too and it is a simple case as running up to someone hitting the square button. You can disarm a whole room of guards with no problems what so ever. The gunplay is a bit more fun that the hand-to-hand combat. It is a pretty standard system of going into Focus and gunning down as many people as you can in the one dive. The fact you don't really have aim is annoying when the auto-aim is pretty poor and looks worse. You do get quite a big arsenal to deal with such as grenade launchers, sub-machine guns, sniper rifles and so on. To be fair this is okay.
The graphics are surprisingly bad. During the cutscenes they are painful to look at and the actual gane has lots of it's own problems. There are some clipping problems with the hand-to-hand fighting. When you punch someone, usually your hand just goes into his body. Eeww... Also the environments are dull and are bland.
The sounds is awful. Let's have poor voice acting and jumpy music. Yay Wait, no.
The game will keep you going for a week, tops. The two adventures are worth playing but they easy to get through thanks to regenerating health and dumb AI. The hacking thing is a joke and don't ever touch it.
Enter the Matrix is a big disappointment and you should get a game like Max Payne instead. |

THE GOOD: The fighting is really cool, just like the characters. The hacking system is also really retro and the unlockable multi-player fight mode is very good.THE BAD: the hacking system can be very difficult. Also when you don't know what to do in the story.. you're stuck. But luckaly that is ALMOST impossible SUMMARY: When I first played it, I was shocked! The first levels are really pretty, the enemies were not too difficult but also not too easy. When the story developed, you get to know more about the environment you play in etcetera. The hacking mode is really unique and the multi-player mode is also very cool. You have to go through a lot of difficulties to finally find the right cheat, but it's worth it! There's also a secret training base with funny trainings(like you can't walk and only have a gun, and the enemies are running right at you)The coolest is still, when you unlocked everything, to go to the first levels and just fight and fight and fight with all the cool moves. |

THE GOOD: A massive range of mind-blowing moves and attacks. Hacking mode is addictive and fun. Focus mode (bullet time) can give you an advantage in combat, and looks cool. You can drive various vehicles and ships. Tons of guns.THE BAD: You can't play as Neo. Some levels too short or repetitive. SUMMARY: Enter the Matrix has an absorbing plot, following Ghost and Niobe as they race to help save Zion. It's a lot of fun to play, and Focus is a dream to behold. The only bad things are the few levels that are repetitive, or almost impossible to complete. For example, Retrieving Axel will have you wishing you were dead. There are also tons of guns and enemies to fight, and you can run rings around them with Focus. Hacking is a refreshing change from the usual blasting and fighting, and lets you unlock extras for the main game, such as a Training arena and multiplayer. |

THE GOOD: some of the moves story (even though its practically the same as The matrix reloaded)THE BAD: No neo not enogh matrix moves SUMMARY: Well they have finally decided to bring out a game tie in with the matrix story (BORING) no seriosly weres neo i mean he's not even in the game exept for the movie clips.
Now the moves some of them are good where as others are cack and there are some they have missed out.I like the disarm and shoot move but thats it and the agents are tooooooooo easy i kick the crap out of all of them on hard.I mean this is supposed be a matrix fighting game and most of the time you are walking in the middle of a room with no enemys in it.
ending my review it was a waste of my money i got bored of it after 2 weeks so i sold i not even one thumb up |

THE GOOD: This game WAS one of my favourite games i had ever played,i have completed a few times and it doesn't easily get boring. You just get a wonderful feeling when you rebound off the wall and kick some guard in the face. Or come up behind one and twist his neck, killing him instantly. The fighting is all quite aweful, and interesting. Then they get guns out, instantly the difficulty begins, but it is no problem for gamers as they dive and filp around bullets in bullet time mode, an incredible feature of the game.As you go into bullet time mode every thing goes slow, and you can make fighting stronger,or run along walls or cartwheel and dodge speeding bullets. The outcome is an amazing game.THE BAD: it is a very fast game. you complete in about 3 days. Also the graphics are not as good as other games, such as Final Fantasy, even in the fmv, cut scenes it still looks chunky and as if the programmers put little effort into it,quite a let down. SUMMARY: over all i would reccomend anyone to buy this game. It is very stylish. Most of the time i just lose the plot and just kill any random fool, i dont really know what the hell most of the story was about, it is nothing like the film, still i did not mind. It is a great gae and that is all you need to know. |

THE GOOD: The Good? Almost everything in the game! When I first saw the martial arts in the game, I was soo amazed! Also the feeling you get when you run up a wall shooting at a SWAT soldier, its sensational!THE BAD: It would have been better if you could play co-op. The graphics could do with a tiny bit of cleaning. Other than that its fine. SUMMARY: When you play this game, if feels like your watching a movie, or better yet, in the movie itself. The structure of this game is beyond all others. Especially the extra Hacking section of the game where you hack into the story itself and extract scenes and controller vibrations. Also the martial arts in the game was very well thought out. You also get to see scenes that were never in the movie, but would fit into the movie. Its like living The Matrix: Reloaded. To top all of this off, you get to see a preview of the 3rd and final movie of the trilogy, The Matrix: Revolutions.I give it a 4 out of 5. |

GOOD The graphics on this game are good and you can usually buy it cheaper than most other PS2 games. You get the oppatunity to play Niobe or Ghost but no Neo.As either of these characters, you will visit agent Smith on several occasions. You can get to do some really cool fights with the focus on, which lets you walk up walls etc matrix style and defeat opponants quiker.Exclusive film footage is shown in between levels which is quite cool.
BAD If your a fast gamer- rent it! you will find it short. The driving levels can get very hard but on the other hand some levels are rediculously easy. There isn't much music on this game either, it gets very, very quiet. It ends kinda suddenly when you get to the last level withought accompishing much.
OVERALL If you like the matrix triology- you should buy or rent it.The graphics and levels are cool and you may get addicted! |

THE GOOD: Focus, Boss Battles, The Mix Of Fighting And Gunplay, The Hacking, The Graphics, The Gameplay.THE BAD: The Hacking Gets A Bit Boring After a While, The Focus Is Imlited, The Goals Are Almost Impossiable At Times, And Too Easy At Others, Two Player Mode Is Boring, SUMMARY: The Gameplay is Good And You have Too Learn The Techiques Which Means That When You Play As The Other Character It Is Too Easy As You All All Of What Will Happen As Well As It Being The Same Paths... The Graphics Look Great As Well As There Being FMV Scences From The Film And The Film Parts Made Into the Game Graphics... The Fighting And Gunplay Is A Funpart AS one minutes Your Unloading Clips Then Jumping 15 Foot In The Air And Kicking SOmeone Though A Wall... The Focus Is A Great Part But I Gets Used Quickly, But It Comes Back Pretty Qucikly As well as The Health WHich Takes Some Fun Out Of It While Makeing IT Better In Other Ways... |

THE GOOD: The game has great graphics, is sold at a good price, has superb plot, and can get addictive at times.
THE BAD: Gets boring after you fully complete it with both Niobe and Ghost, and it doesn't take too long to complete.
SUMMARY: This is a great game to play. Truly brings out a few secrets about the Matrix. There's also exclusive film footage not even shown in the Matrix Trilogy. If you're a Matrix fan, go get this game. With a choice of either Ghost or Niobe, both have their own special part.
If you're more of a shooter than a driver, pick Ghost.
If you're more of a driver, pick Niobe. Either way, both are fun to play with. However the game only takes a good 4-5 hours to complete, which is this game's only downer. Overall I recommend getting this game, it's worth your money. |
