THE GOOD:Whole new bunch of great cars, including Hummers and Escalades. Huge city to free roam around in. Great upgrades to your cars.
THE BAD:
Mostly the same from the old game, cars handle strangely.
SUMMARY:
This game is just a souped up version of the last NFSU. While it's great, it has everything it had last time that stopped it from being perfect, cars handle way too sluggish and competition isn't that difficult. Even on hard, the only things that live up to that is Drag. All the rest is fairly easy.
Now that's nothing bad, because this game is still great, you get an unbelievable amount of visual upgrades, your cars only looked half as awesome in NFSU as they do now. Spoilers, Bumpers, Roof Scoops, Hoods and everything has got a huge boost in figures of parts. There are even loads of new additions, Hydraulics, Spinners, Audio Systems and even Suicide and Scissor doors are available. Performance upgrades are the same as they always were, apart from the additional Dino Tuning that I haven't had a chance to experiment with.
One of the first things you'll notice (apart from the hot model Brooke Burke playing the role of one of the charactars) is the huge city you can roam around in, it's all there, Body Shops, Graphics Shops, Car Specialties, the works, each offering different upgrades to your car. Races are the same, apart from URL (Underground Racing League). SUV, which is much the same but with larger vehicles. Street X and Outrun Races, and we mustn't forget Photo Opportunites. Offering much more to do than last time.
It's certainly a great game, not a huge amount has been added to the gameplay, apart from the Nitros refill bar. But a huge amount has been added to the game itself, there are loads of races, including secret ones, it'll take you ages to complete and you'll never get bored along the way. Traffic as usual is bugging, but challenging.
There are loads of nice new cars as well, Lexus, Infiniti and Cadillac all make an entrance, all the oldies and loads of new ones. The RX-8, Corsa, H2 and Escalade are all there as promised.
