PS2  One of the best racing games. 4.1

THE GOOD:
Graphics, good amount of customisation, fair amount af races to do in underground mode.

THE BAD:
All the tracks are in one city and eventually most of the tracks are very similar and go through the same obsticals. also the Non-Race cars look bad. TRAFFIC IS EVIL IN SOME LEVELS.

SUMMARY:
This game is the best racing GAMES that i've played. While not as realistic as a GT it is very very fun and customising is just as enjoyable
GRAPHICS: 10/10 The game looks great, speed blur occurs perfectly, it's a beauty. Non-race vehicles didn't get much Detail and vehicles don't get damaged but when your car looks good you don't want it getting all scratched up.
SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10 The sounds are really good, Turbos sound real and all cars sound different. The Nitros has good sound too. The music is the best of any game I have ever played and If I ever saw those songs as a CD I would buy it in a second. Music is set to be fast paced hard rock music for racing and nice calm Hip Hop for the menus. I'm not a fan of hip-hop and rap but the songs chosen sound cool.
GAMEPLAY: 10/10 I wanted to give it lower but its just so much fun. As I said it's not a simulator like GT3 but It is the most Fun Arcade style driving game ever....ever. I havn't played NFSUG2 so it could be better. There are also new things like Drags, Drifts and sprint races. One Problem is with drags when you have a well tuned up car with full acceleration and top speed its Mighty hard to change gears in drags and you have to use nitro's before you reach the 6th gear or you'll finish the drag before it. Traffic is good and bad at the same time.
Vehicles 7/10 Yes, these vehicles are real street race used cars but there are only about 12 cars to get. Instead you get to customise them but a few more would've helped.
TRACKS: 7/10 The tracks are all based off one city and thats pretty cool as knowing a short cut in one race can help in later ones but unfortunatly the races get to similar to each other and lose some excitement. A few different ones are needed
EXCITEMENT 9/10 This is a fast paced exciting game. The game feels exciting thanks to speed blur and the contstant threat of collisions with slower drivers.
UNLOCKABLES: 7/10 During the game you will pick up style points these are used to unlock things. Most of the time These are just a few new Viynls but sometimes you'll pick up a brand new Car design which looks pretty cool. Unfortunalty when you finish the game all these designs are lost. well it happened on mine.
Nf races. 8/10 Theres a fair number of races with 112 in underground mode. After about 100 the races become one-one races making it easy to win through quickly
Difficulty: 6/10 The Game is too easy. After about 100 races Traffic levels drop and you start racing against only one person. WHich makes it very easy to push that one person into a wall or tree or whatever and pick up a big lead. I beat the last race first try. Easy, Easy, Easy. Race 96 is the hardest due to it's high traffic and tunnels with Upright beams in the middle with a bend.
DURIBLITY: 7/10 You will probably finish the game happily then do up all the cars to look good and then not play it much again
OVERALL:81/100(4.05/5)
It's a very good game and more fun than simulator type. This means if you reach a hard race you will probably be willing to try it more often without getting angry. Buy it.

THE GOOD:
Emence speed, extreme tention, cool cars, and all the rest that makes it a classic ps2 game that I will never stop playing and put it on a shelf and forget about.

THE BAD:
Mabey a few more options on painting your car. It would be nice to be able to make your own colors. And mabey more accesories like roof scoops and headlights or more colors of neon. Oh yes And some more songs by the Lostprophets!

SUMMARY:
One of the best games I've ever played. Borrowed it off a friend to try it out and I couldnt give it back! Recordred all the songs from 'EA trax' onto my minidisc player. Hope that isnt illegal! Ive got to say when I first played te game the stock cars that you have to start with are pretty crap and i did feel a bit dissapointed, but once I had unlocked some performance upgrades thats when the fun began!

PS2  NEED FOR SPEED: UNDERGROUND 4.8

THE GOOD:
The cars are very detailed.
The sounds of the cars are awesome!
The different games in it are lots of fun.
Drag, drifting, circuit, sprint
The tracks are detailed and enjoyable.
You can change the look of how you race. (first person, view of the car, and closer view of it)

THE BAD:
I wish they would have added:
#1 personalized plates....since this is a game of customizing your car.
#2 Having police show up at the end after you race (not necessarily all the time) would have been cool. After all.... if it's illegal racing, you'd think the pigs would show up sometime and try and spoil the fun.
#3 A few more cars.
#4 A few more songs.
Only thing that I do get annoyed with is at the end of dragging, the crowd that cheers. It's fine a few times, but if you play this alot or have the volume high, that's a bit annoying.
That 1 thing of course does not make me not like the game. Just personal preferences. Just things to add to the fun.

SUMMARY:
I played this game on XBox at a friends house, and the next day I bought it for my PS2. I bought it mostly for the drag racing, but the loved the other racing parts of it.
I enjoyed the customizing.
The graphics of the game are very damn good. I played Gran Turismo and Midnight Club 2 and the cars looked better and handled alot better in Underground.
As the game goes on & you score points, you're able to unlock "special cars." IE- Rob Zombie car. Too bad you can't add to the cars, but they are way fun when you are just racing and doing the games, before going "Underground." Underground is where the story is. Where you up from a nobody in racing to a bad ass.
Of course it does get harder as it goes. But...you have a choice of racing: easy, medium, and hard.
There's 111/112 races in Underground mode. The last one took me a hell of a time. I played that one on eeeeasy.
So I have to say...personally I loved the hell out of the game.
I am looking forward to Underground 2.
So get it new or used....but add it to your collection.

PS2  An Awesome Racing game, but falls a bit short from perfection 4.1

Well, i'm not a big fan of racing games, but this one
is one of those few that i'm happy to make an exception.

-Let's start with the visuals. The graphics of this
game are great, nothing groundbreaking, but it's the
next best thing. The city in this game is not based on
a real one, but suprisingly, it would appear that there
is not one day that goes by that it does not rain in this fictional city, why do i think this? simple, the
roads are nice and shiny in everyone of the 111 levels,
and your car is suprisingly shiny aswell. This effect
does make the game look more beautiful, but after awhile, it does feel ridiculous.

-The story is nothing complicated, you start as an
unknown insect and as you win races, you start to get
noticed by more and more people. You have to rise
through the rankings to be #1 on Circuit, sprint, drag
and drift races. Yes, obviously this is very simple,
but what do you expect from a racing game, besides
the story does have it's few good points in the story.
Also, to obviously make the story more interesting,
There is this guy called Eddie, who isn't exactly
what you would call a rival,(not until you get
to the #2 spots anyway) simply because when you
begin the game, he is on the #10 spots on all rankings
and as you race more and more he advances more and more. And when you finally get to#10 spot, he will be like #4, so it adds a bit to realism that your not
the only one capable to rising up the ranks on every
catagory.

-I just love the soundtracks of this game, although
there are only a few.

-Now for the gameplay... well, let me say this is a
pretty long game, it has 111 levels, but around
20 tracks. Aso, one cool thing about the courses
is that almost all on all levels, there are atleast
2 levels that interconnect at some point or another,
so you might be racing in one level, and then recognize
some landmarks or shortcuts from other levels that
you may already be familiar with. Yes, it's true, this
game has tremendous amounts of customizables parts.
From Front bumbers Back bumbers, side skirts, mufflers, taillights, headlights, hoods, spoilers, window tinting, rims,Neon, roof scoops, Vinyls to design your car with whatever you have in mind, decals, ETC...
This is obviously awesome, but one problem. I
understand that all of this cannot be available to you in the start of the game, you have to unlock it little by little, now i agree with that, what i don't agree is that you only have 15-20% available to you until you reach LEVEL 50 AND ABOVE, YES YOU HEARD ME! So look, i customized my car as best possible with what i
had available, but it still wasn't a car i felt extremely proud of. Then days later, i tried to customize my car with a few more unlocked things, and
finally, i made a car that i was proud of...when i was
currently on level 76!!! out of 111!

Still without a doubt this game is awesome, something
cool about this game is the sense of speed, when you begin the game, you feel pretty fast, but as you unlock more performance upgrades your car's speed, acceleration, turbo, and nitrous amount increases,
your car is gonna go extremely fast, when you unlock the extreme performance upgrades, your car is gonna be
VERY hard to control, literally! and if you go back and start the game again, your gonna feel that your
going so slow that you gonna think the brake pedal
is jammed, and your brakes are what is slow you down.
This game is great, challenging, and very enjoyable.
the game does get hard later on, but not because of the competition, but because your car is going to be hard to keep undercontrol. I highly recomend this
game.

THE GOOD:
Liceansed cars, great graphics, customization of real cars, real music, doing illgeal street racing without getting in trouble, win money, and parts for your car, lots of fun.

THE BAD:
Story element a lil dull. Needed to be a little better. Other than that the game is sooooooo gooooood.

SUMMARY:
Other than a lack of story elements the game was amazing and i cant wait to get the sequel in a few months. This game is amazing. From begining to end its a total adrenaline rush. FULL throttle game, with NOS and real company tune up parts. If your looking for a good realistic racing game, then this is the game for you. I suggest getting to the store immediately and buying it. DONT wait till the sequel comes out, get the first and play for practice for the second which will be even better.

THE GOOD:
the graphics in this game are awesome. even the nitrous looked real. the cars are real. the rims are real. everything in this game is real. i liked the length of this game and i liked all the different kinds of races you could do. the great thing about this game is that you can customize your whole car from the engine accent to the spoiler.

THE BAD:
i didnt like that you raced on the same track just reversed.i also didnt like the ending of the game. but i really dont think nfsu2 can get any better. this game should have had spinners.

SUMMARY:
i think this is a great game espiacially if you like racing games. the control and everything is great. i recomend you buy this game.i rate this game a 4.9 because of the track problem.great street racing game.i beat this game and all and i think you should unlock cheats so when you go back to play it on like hard mode you could have some help.

THE GOOD:
20 fully customizable cars from the top brands such as Toyota and Mitsubishi.

THE BAD:
Replay the same race often, fairly linear tracks.

SUMMARY:
OK, abandoning the Exotic Based Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, and going into the gritty life of street racing, with hundrends of after market parts to make your ride look cool. Escape the high life and enter the low life of street illegal racing. Race through 114 Los Angeles style courses, from construction sites to oriental gardens.

Drift Mode, slide with style in these Japanese Traditional 4 lap races around a slick and slidy course. Drag, inspired by The Fast And The Furious, race 3 other cars down motorways, main streets and parks. And The rest, Circuit: the usual, Sprint: one lap, 4 racers, whoever wins, earns respect and Time Trial: Single Race, to get a unique part.

The game lacks replay value, but who needs it with Quick Race, and you canm always play again, to get both Wide Body Kits you'll have to. Overall, this game Rocks, and its a must for any PS2 Owner. This gets a 96% for me.

Graphics: Good, a bit joggy, but overall great.

Sounds: The soundtrack is ok, mixs rock with urban, quite well in my opinion. Some cacthy tunes in there.

Gameplay: Good, the cars handle fine, but when you crash, it just isn't realistic.

Controls: Fine.

Overall: A very good game a few glithces and mistakes here and there, but I like it, I like it a lot, a definite thimbs up for me.
