| This is a good game. I bought it cheap from a friend who had finished with it.
I first saw it in a game shop when the box front caught my eye. It showed a plane flying past the camera and a cruiser being blown up. I rushed home with it and put it in the disk tray...
The Graphics-
The graphics are superb. When something blows up, if you are quite close, a huge cloud of smoke and forces you away, and when the smoke clears, your plane is covered in soot. Each of the four playable planes looks distinctly different, and all of the battleships do to. When you fly into the sun, it is so bright, you find it hard to see. The best thing about the graphics though, is when you dive. Visible contrails come out of the tips of the wings and make is breathtaking to watch from the different views.
The Graphics- 10/10.
The Sound-
The sound is also amazing. Very good war like music plays in the background and I found myself humming it for a month after I got it. Explosions are very realistic as they are almost deafening. This game is not the sort of game you want to be playing with a sor head. It can be very loud.
The Sound- 7/10.
The Controls-
The controls in this game are not the easiest to master, but once you get the hang of them, you'll be surprised at what you can make your plane do. It is mostly the shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1, R2) that do all of the important stuff. Buttons like the X button show you the last briefing message and so on... Holding down the speed up button for to long makes your engine over heat which can lead to a crash, to you need to be careful. To land your plane, you slow down and fly through landing circles.
The Controls- 9/10.
The Game Play-
In this game you can play either as an American pilot or a Japanese pilot. Each mission takes place in a superbly detailed environment and the two separate sides are linked so that if you play the Japanese, you maybe have to defend your base against the Americans, and if you play the Americans, you have to attack the base. There are over fifty levels to play as you defend against and attack Anti Tank guns, battle ships, planes, vehicles, and enemy towns. There is a lot of fun to be had in this game, so...
The Game Play- 10/10.
The Replay Value-
During the coarse of the game, you have to upgrade your planes, to make them better, and once you complete the game, you get to do it all again with your upgraded planes.
The Replay Value- 7/10.
Multi player-
There is no multi player in this game.
Multi player- 0/10.
This game is a brilliantly created fighter aircraft game with some of the most interesting story lines I have seen in a game. Definitely buy this game because you'll enjoy it so much. This game gets a final score of 10/10.
