Background:
The popular anime/manga series, arrives on the PS2. Take control as Yoh Asakura, a young shaman; a spirit-summoner. Encounter many foes, while competing and defending the Shaman Grand Tournament. Your destiny is to become a Shaman King!

Gameplay:
The gameplay is a combination of role-playing, adventure, strategy, and fighting.

Arrange your spirits before battle, then take control of them when the action starts. The game also has a unique, original storyline, along with boss characters created just for it, in which Konami is pulling out a name contest for the bosses.
