The Godfather

SUMMARY:
Let's start with the good about this game. The game play is great. I like the way you can hide behind the walls for protections. Aiming on most game is pretty pathetic where you have to free-aim, but not on The Godfather which has it's own auto-aim. Yes it does have a free-aim but will rarely be used.

As the start the game you get to create your character's facial features. What's great about is if you mess up don't get up in a fret and restart your game, because you can fix them later on in the game. The story basically follows the movies story, but in someone else's point of view, not Micheal's from the movies.

If you have seen the movies like me you'll recognize a lot of the story which is a good thing because you get to remember the good times when you watched them. Mission length is great, each mission goes from point to point and has a big shootout against a rival mafia family.

The 22 different execution styles in the game are really great because each one is unique except for two or three because you have just need to use a different weapon to perform the execution. If you don't like to so much help implemented for the developers - like me, then this a game for you because you get no help what so ever on how to perform the executions.

Weapons in the game are great. Ranging from a variety of machine type guns, shotguns, revolvers, etc. The thing I like the most about the weapons is that you can go in search for an merchant that sells you illegal things. What he sells is upgrades up to three separate times for each and every type of weapon excluding dynamite, and bombs. Each upgrade gives a boost of power, firing speed, and ammo capacity.

Graphics are modeled really well for the people and the buildings, interior and exterior. A down side to the graphics is when it comes to the vehicles. The wheels look misshapen and odd. Other than that I think the graphics are great.

Now on to the bad. There isn't very many bad things in the game, but I have a feeling you need to know them. One is the short amount of missions, it is made up by the length, but still I think that not just part 1 of the story was in the game, but part 2 going from the films. Police are useless in the game except for being bribed. I don't like it when they try to kill you right after being bribed, waste of your money.

If you like mafia type games this is the game for you, it is literally an offer you can't refuse for the price it is in stores at the moment this written which is 39$ for the PS2 version. I give this game a 4.4, but it would have received a perfect 5 if it weren't for the two down sides to the game.
