THE GOOD:
The Godfather: The Game has many good points. The first is the size of map and distance that you can travel around New York, with the ability of great free-roam. Once you go around the towns, you have to take over warehouses and bomb enemy compounds. This game has great realism and graphics too as you can see newspapers flying around the roads and paths, the pedestrians are so life like and the buildings/markets have also got amazing graphics. Secondly, you can create your own personal character with a new system called Mob Face. You can add scars to your characters face, change his clothes, give him a different style of hair etc. But first of all, you need money, and to get money you have to do certain missions for the Corleones family. You will also get respect as well. Another great thing is that EA put in a new system of fighting so you can actually grab your enemies/pedestrians cloths and punch them various ways using the analogue stick. This looks almost real as you can also throw enemies of windows, bang them against walls, choke them and do many more. There are special moves or "Executions" that are in the game and to execute someone you have to press R2 when you see the execute sign. This can give your enemy an instant or special kill which is great to me. Another great thing about this game is the weapons. The weapons you start of with may not have much affect, but once you get gun upgrades, you will be armed and dangerous! The guns affect also looks real as you can give an enemy about 3 or 4 shots before they die. The harder the enemy, the more shots you have to fire.
Side missions are also a good point to this game. You can do a mixture of side missions like doing contract killings, doing all execution styles, wipe out all the families and break safes from the bank for money.
Last but not least, the extortion business is highly addictive. You need to persuade people to pay protection for your family, and I find that really fun. Then, every week, the shopkeeper or whoever runs the store, pays you.

THE BAD:
The storymode was a little too short. Only being around 6-7 hours long for completion by the average gamer, (only storymode), this was a little disappointing to me. Also, the cars are pretty slow, the fastest not even being fast, and there was only about 6 or 7 of them! This was a great disappointment.
Another thing to do with the cars was that in some missions, when another car had to chase your car, their car was also JUST faster than yours, and that turned out to be very annoying. The cops were in the game and you would have up to 6 police badges (one badge is police that come after you secretly and 6 badges is police come after you with cars etc). You could also bribe the cops as a result of winning a Mob War or just if you want to go out killing! An extra other thing is that you can't do drive-by shootings which was disappointing! I thought there would of been that, but EA only let the people in the car shoot the bad guys if you're in a mission. Also, you couldn't recruit your allies. They just stood there, but you couldn't recruit them which was a shame to me. After all, if you become Don, you've GOT to be protected, huh!?

SUMMARY:
I think EA made a good effort producing The Godfather as a game. Dia-hard fans will love this game and even some that have not seen any of the movies. Although there isn't anything to do much after you become Don of NYC, this game is still good. You could always go on a deadly rampage and at least the game is realistic and enjoyable!

I give it on my scale, an 8/10 (Neoseeker scale, 4/5.)
A few things I was disappointed in, but nonetheless, we WERE expecting good things. EA have done a great job on The Godfather: The Game and hopefully they will maybe make a Godfather II as a game!
