Tony Hawks 3 | 3.0 0 comments |
by Dark Elite from , , Australia | Sep 1, 2004 |
THE GOOD: ~The graphics ~AddictiveTHE BAD: ~Same type of gameplay to the last game SUMMARY: Another game of the series for you PS2 gamers, you should be pleased. This is the game after the two games of Tony Hawks' pro skater. It kicks off to a go start and is ok for the first few days of playing.
There are really cool tracks that you can play in and are btter than the last game's ones. They are very interesting and there seems like a pretty cool atmosphere aorund it. The graphics for the time were supurb and showed some potential.
The gameplay is fun as you can do so many tricks. It will take you a while to master them all but it's fun trying to do them. If you enable cheats you will have even more fun as you have no gravity, matrix mode and stuff like that, that will keep you interested.
The music is ok, there are a few good tracks, but some of them are crap, the sounds in the game are at a good standard, but not the best I have heard.
The game play is very addictive but after 4 days I guarantee that you might get bored. Though you have your create a skater which adds to the replay value of the game. It's fun to make your own character and there are a few options that will make you laugh.
Though this is an old game I do suggest you rent befor you buy, as the next two games in the series are already out, but this game is very cheap. |

Last Traditionaly Styled THPS Game | 4.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: -Definitely Classic THPS gameplay -Big improvement on THPS and THPS2 -2-Player mode keeps you occupied for hours on end -Lots of exciting new tricksTHE BAD: -Very limited gameplay -Several Small things that arent included in this review SUMMARY: I want to start out first by saying that this review was delayed because I wanted to play and complete THPS4 and TH Underground before I gave my opinion. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is indeed the last THPS game to incorporate the same gameplay as the first two games. In THPS4 and Underground, the timed levels and several other details are lost for a more moderen (and greatly improved) style of game. But, If you are/were a fan of the first THPS games and do not want a change, THPS3 is the game for you. |

THE GOOD: - Better Graphics - More tricks - More specials - Big and detailed levels - New secret characters - Better music - New and better moviesTHE BAD: There is nothing bad about the game. The game can get borring once you beat it. SUMMARY: This game is great and its worth its money. Lots of new detailed levels. Lots of ramps and rails to do massive combos off of. The graphics are good but the vould have been better. Lots of pro skaters and new secret characters to choose from and master their skating style. This game will keep you playing for more than a month because of all the great features that ate in the game. The only thing that sucks about it is that it can get boring once you beat it but it will be a while before it gets boring. There are also new and better movies to get for every character that you beat the game with. This game game is just perfect so go out and buy it. |

THE GOOD: Well, the main good thing is that we get another Hawk game. Not only a new hawk game, but a PS2 Hawk game. And the great thing about the THPS series is that the never really get old. They offer high speed grinds on large levels, bad ass combo tricks, and another thing to compete with with your buds. This one is just as revoulutionary as the last two.I'm happy to see the create-a-skater is improved,as is the create-a-skatepark.The levels are an improvement to, and it's good to see a few other people in them (I was kinda paranoid in THPS2 when i was all alone in the night in downtown NYC.) An excellent soundtrack make this game well worth the money.THE BAD: I personally thought the career mode was a bit to easy. And i enjoyed the different camera views from THPS 1 and 2. Wish they didnt scrap those. SUMMARY: More unique hidden charactera (Darth Maul and Wolverine to name a few) and some nice hidden levels top off this great game. Also, THPS3 has recived the PS2's "Greatest Hits" award, lowering it's price to a bargain 20 bucks. This is a great time to cash in on a game that will be remembered for a little while anyways.

THE GOOD: Everything. The skaters, the parks, the tricks and especially the graphics.THE BAD: Nothing really. The music can get a little old and lame after a while. Just turn on the stereo instead. SUMMARY: Wow! Thats what I said about THPS3 when I first got it. You will too.
Sakters- 9/10 All the big names from the pro circuit are here. Bob Burnquist was excluded but replaced with Bam Marguera.
The Locales- 10/10 There are 12 massive levels here. They all have people to interact with. The parks aren't deserted anymore.
The Graphics- 11/10 This game is freakin' beautiful. The light and shadows is dead on good. The levels are huge and have almost no jagged edges. The skaters are just under real life realistic.
Replay- 12/10 Let me put it this way, your PS2 will be worn out before this is. There are 9 skaters, each with 54 objectives to complete. Each skater can get 5 stat points from a level. Plus each level has a new deck for you to skate on. When you factor in the 12 levels with a few unlockables, you are gonna be pretty busy. Not to forget, there is a way powerful Create-A-Skater so you can make as many different skaters as your memory card will hold. And all of your created skaters can go through the 12 levels with 54 objectives, 5 stat points, and a new deck. Add into the mix online play, this title will keep you busy for years. I'm serious.
Total- 9.9/10 My only complaint is the soundtrack, which can get old kinda quick. No Bob Burnquist was a bummer too. Thats it. For 20 bucks you couldn't get a better deal. BUY! BUY! BUY! |

THE GOOD: Levels- Hidden Characters- Tricks- -Tony Hawk and the 900 -Awsome graphics -Huge Levels
THE BAD: Nothing at all SUMMARY: READ THIS HELPFUL REVIEW**********************
You dont have to be a skateboarder to love this game.
Dont listen to the bad comments on this site about this game, because they arent true. This game only cost $20!!! I would have paid fifty! The single player mode is awsome. I plan on getting Tony Hawk 4, thats how good the game is. In my opinion I think this is one of the best games for Playstation 2. I went to www.gamespot.com to see what kind of a rateing it got....A 10/10 was what i read, thats when i decided to buy the game. I've never seen a game get a perfect 10 except that on gamespot.
A PERFECT 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont need to write a novel about this game to convince you to buy it...just go out and buy it
TAKE MY WORD FOR IT******** |

THE GOOD: - Better Graphics - More tricks - New levels - New cheats - Kick A$$ Secret CharactorsTHE BAD: - No Spiderman - Cheats = Most Wanted! - No Bob Burnquist - Music is pretty lame SUMMARY: I say buy this game for 1 and 1 reason only! Its a skating loving game! You will play the game for hours on and be addicted within 10mins of play time. I played for months and on and just couldn't stop. Awesome Tony Hawk game... | 4.4 0 comments |
by Mr Matthews48 from , , USA | Jan 30, 2003 |
THE GOOD: Great graphics, awesome gameplay, great multi-player modes, sweet moves, cool skaters, great soundtrack...THE BAD: ....nothing SUMMARY: I feel this is the best Tony Hawk game out to date. It is easy to control the skaters and really easy to pull off tricks. I had a great time with this game.
I beat it with every character and only found it that the game gets better and better each time you beat it with a different character. It gives you a sense of wanting to beat it with every character before you stop which is exactly what I did.
Overall Outcome: Buy It! |
