Tony Hawk’s Underground for the Playstation 2. This game was a revolution for all of the Tony Hawk’s series, for the inclusion of new features and controls, and other things you couldn’t do in the previous games in the series.
It used the same physics engine as in the game’s Playstation 2 predecessor, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Although updated, it’s still the same as the predecessor.

The game’s controls are just the same as any other Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, with the fascia buttons (Triangle, X, O and Square) controlling the tricks.
Square, accompanied with a D-Pad direction, will do a flip trick, e.g. Kickflip, Pop Shove it etc.
O, accompanied with a D-Pad direction, does a grab trick, e.g. Indy, Nose grab etc.
Triangle is the grind function.
X makes you Ollie (jump).
When in a manual, two combinations of the fascia buttons will trigger a different “flatland” trick, such as To Rail,...

THE GOOD:
- The Levels
- The Characters
- The Storyline
- Create A Skater
- Create A Trick
- Create A Park
- Graphics
- Sound

THE BAD:
- Short
- Easy

SUMMARY:
This game is the best tony hawks game ever made. The levels are very large and give you lots of room to explore. There are many areas that are hidden in some of the levels. The levels can be free skated for a long time before you get bored. This game provides a good selection of characters to skate with. The storyline will keep you hooked. You start out with your friend Eric Sparrow. You just skate around town and get noticed. Chad Muska gives you his board and then you are off looking for a sponsorship from your local skate shop. You have to make a video but you cant make it in New Jersey, your hometown. You and Eric go to Manhatten and make a video and then you get sponsored by your local skate shop. Then Eric forgets to sign you up for a Pro-Am...

THE GOOD:
You can make your own skater.

This game has cheats.

You don't have to be on your skateboard all the time unlike in the previous games.

Good graphics

Good levels

It has online play

THE BAD:
Well nothing I can think of really except I'm not a big fan of skate boarding games but that's just me.

SUMMARY:
Difficulty: Hard

This is probably the 2nd or 3rd best Tony Hawk game. This game is quite different from the first four Tony Hawk games. I'm glad they made a sequal to this game. I might review that sometime. But for now I'll be reviewing this. This game probably has the best level design of any Tony Hawk game. You get to make your own character and then go on a skate boarding adventure.

Did you like Tony Hawk's Underground 2? If you did then you will most likely like this one too. This game is a must buy for all Tony Hawk fans.

I rate this game a 4/5 (8/10)

THE GOOD:
  • Story Mode
  • Customize Everything
  • Large Levels
  • Great Online Play

    SUMMARY:
Tony Hawk's Underground is a game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, whether they like skateboarding or not.

Underground keeps the same, classical Hawk gameplay in whcih you control a skater and have him perform tricks by entering a combination of buttons with the controller, but this time the skater is you!

Instead of starting out as a pro skater attending competitions, you take the role of an unknown Jersey kid trying to make it big on the skating scene. Teaming up with your friend Eric Sparrow, you'll travel around the country and come in contact with famous skaters like Tony Hawk, Bam Margera, and the new-to-the-Hawk-series Mike Vallely.

The story mode isn't that long, so lucky for you there's plenty of other stuff to do. For starters you can play the game again on...

  • THE GOOD:
Graphics, the audio is really good, Story Mode!!!, Custom Charachters, level desegin is exellent! so-so controls and it's long enough and it can be pretty funny at some parts.

    THE BAD:
The controls for the car are horrible, G, limited appeal unless you are a skateboard freak!!! and well i guess that's it...

    SUMMARY:
Hi homies!! Guess what Im reviwing a game(joy to the world!!) Anyways lets start off with the graphics. Well there pretty good like the audio(voice-overs). The story mode is reall interesting. But some of the controles aren't very good(like the car controles) Oh yeah! and there are only two types of cars Sorry! Overall it's a pretty good game, can be better but it's good see ya latter very soon!! Oh yeah can you people sign my guest book I want to see youre opinions about these games.

    THE GOOD:
  • Different from the previous Tony Hawk series
  • Story Mode

    THE BAD:

  • Nothing exciting to do when roaming through the areas
  • Cars

    SUMMARY:
Tony Hawk's Underground when came out was a new experiance for Tony Hawk players as for the first time we had to go on a journey through the whole world going places like Moscow and New Jersey instead of the usual goals in all the other Tony Hawk games

You start off at your home town and straight away you are on a mission to be the best skater there is. You end up leaving New Jersey [your home town] to go to Manhatten because your best mate Eric Sparrow got in a bit of trouble with the cops. In Manhatten you start filiming a little skate vid and head to Mr Peralta who lets you into his skate team. Then you end up heading all over the world trying to become a pro and then when you finnaly get near the end when your best mate Eric betrays you by losing your skate...

    THE GOOD:
    + Good new Story mode
+ The standard in skating game control
    + Customize, customize, customize
    + 80 songs?!
    + Great PS2 online features

    THE BAD:
    - Essentially the same gameplay as before
    - Many of the same goals, too

    SUMMARY:
What do candy bars, free drinks and Beatles songs have in common? You never get sick of them. You might take a break for fear of diabetes or a wicked hangover. but after a day or so it’s like someone hit the reset button and you’re good to go again.
You might as well add Tony Hawk games to that list, at least according to the phenomenal sales figures of a series that has produced a winner every single year since its inception back in 1999 and bought several summer homes for the Hawkman himself. There has been a Tony Hawk game on a whopping 10 systems (if you count the N-Gage) thus far and it doesn’t look to be slowing down much.

Still, you have to wonder if Neversoft...

    THE GOOD:
    Good story line.
    The levels are pretty big.
Lots of levels to skate on there are even a few from and old Tony Hawk game.
    Make you own skate moves.
    Make your own skateboard.
Ale to get off the board.
    Ability to drive cars.
    Lots of new moves.
Ability to skate during the night and day.

    THE BAD:
Very little space to create your own park on.

    SUMMARY:
Let me just make this as short as posible so you wont spend your time reading this forever. You start out as a local skater and as you pregress throught the game you form into a pro. The levels are pretty big and there are lots of rails and pipes to trick off of to create some awesome combos. The missions that you recieve from the locals and the pro skater are fantastic and sometimes challenging but they are always fun. You get the chance to create your own board design and trick moves which is pretty exciting. Overall the game is great and is defiantly worth getting...

Waaay too easy at times (story mode)

    SUMMARY:
Had the game only 5 hours but it is immense fun and gets 5/5 from me, i'd advise all that liked the predecessors to go out and buy it, it will not disapoint.
The improved online mode makes this game even more special as you can show off tricks youve created online.
You can even map your face onto the game if you are able to connect to the internet.

    THE GOOD:
  • Hey, Tony's Tony
  • Get off that board!
  • Online for PS2!
