A LEGENDARY SOLIDER. A FINAL MISSION. THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

SPOILER WARNING: MY REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE BEGINNING.

STORY

The story in this game is incredible. It carries on from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty where Snake is still trying to chase down his brother, Liquid trapped inside the body of Ocelot. The story follows Old Snake as he journeys through the middle east to the snowed over, Shadow Moses. For fans of the franchise, who have played from the beginning will have a trip down memory lane...

THE GOOD:
Beautiful graphics. Tight, responsive controls and gameplay that has been refined from every game in the series. A real feeling of progression and evolution in the franchise. Grade A voice acting. Epic cinematics, and epic conclusions to each act.

THE BAD:
Cutscenes are LONG and if you are not a die-hard fan this might turn you off. You can go for an hour and a half (straight) without playing if you watch all the cutscenes. The over-the-top and confusing plot is not friendly to newcomers to the series, and even some die-hards will have trouble making sense of it. The boss characters are not as memorable or as fun as previous bosses. HIDEO KOJIMA CANNOT WRITE LOVE STORIES!

SUMMARY:
MGS4 is the conclusion to Solid Snake's story. It is his final mission, and it is suitably epic. I won't go in to spoilers here, but suffice it to say, every act in MGS4 could stand alone as its own game. Every act has an ending that entire games wish they...

SUMMARY:
Warning! - This review WILL HAVE SPOILERS! Nothing major, but the genius of MGS
comes in the little things that make the game amazing. If you know all of those before you start it, the game somehow
loses it's magic. Like knowing what you're getting for Christmas before Christmas Morning. =P

Before I start into this I just have a few things to say aside from the points I'm going to address. This is going to be the most glowing review I ever write, because I feel the game deserves every 10/10 and 99.9% score that it's recieveing in it's first week of life. The game is astounding, epic, astonishing, amazing. It's truly...

A LEGENDARY SOLDIER. A FINAL MISSION. THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

Over the last decade or so, Hideo Kojima has given us one of the most unforgettable series of games that has been tied to Sony's play station consoles. From the very old Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake to the more recent Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3 and the ever so popular Portable Ops series for the PSP. Awaiting Metal Gear Solid 4, I was panicking as to wondering how Kojima could make this game different yet better than its predecessors. As fans will know the Metal Gear games offer the most in depth story lines that can completely overwhelm the players which they have been doing for years. Forget Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell or Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear originated the stealth thrillers and now at a time when they are becoming scarce Metal Gear Solid 4 makes an dominant comeback to claim the throne of PS3 title of the year, and this is why'¦
