The story is about the return of the Helgast, with a brutal leader called General Armin Metrac leading them looking for world Domanace, you are the one man sent into the battlefield to challenge your skills as a Killzone player to defeat Metrac in the impossible mission.

The graphics/detail in this game are to an exceptional level with a lot of detail added to many of the surrounding environment and also tanks and enemy. A good example of this is of the first level for where astonishing detail has been put into simply things like Barbed wire and many other things. The 3rd person camera perspective is really interesting with this game, with the previous Killzone that I did play you did not have this. The challenge of being on the PSP brought where the camera had to be, and they have fulfilled this really well, but the graphical additions helped to this loads. The detail that is also added into the game, what features can blow up or be destroyed seems to have been focused on highly as through out all the levels you will find more and more things that can explode.

The controls in this game have been set up really well and to a basic standard, you have the basic fire, laser light, duck and move around as you main controls with the analogue stick being the controls to move.

The weapons that are in the game are a good range with different and unknown weapons that I have never heard of before added, you can gain Vektan which is the games form of money to buy upgrades to these weapons which will make them more powerful, increase the rate of fire or even improve the accuracy of the weapon. What is also good with the weapons is you can unlock add ons to the weapons that increase mainly what you can hold by doing the challenged side mini game.

Tanks/Hovercraft are a feature in this game that you can use and control, though you can only use them at certain times it is really good to use such vehicles and easy to be able to control them.

The scene that are added in the middle and ending of
the missions are not to the best standard and could easily be improved but them they do not matter as much.

The challenges are side mini games, such as kill enemies or do a level in such a time that will unlock points that you can then by weapons add ons with. What I really liked about these is the range in challenges that there was that you can do and the level always increases and makes it really hard for you to be able to do.

The music for me I found to be really good in this game and something to stand out. Really fits in with the game really well.

To sum this up, the game was really good and lasted through many hours when I had nothing to do. If you enjoy war based games or the previous Killzone it is really worth getting.

Oh wow, this game was amazing. First off, the game hit me like a wave when I saw the graphics. The opening scene was amazing. Everything looked so stunning, I could watch it over and over again. Then opens the menu. I love the music. It's very tense and gets you going. Well, the gameplay is great. You get a third person view so you can plan your attacks ahead of time.
Storline...well, you're playing Jan Templar who works for ISA (Interplantery Strategic Alliance) Special Forces. Sometimes you may get a partner. Either Rico Velasquez, a human tank, that's tough and doesn't hold back on anything or Luger, a female assassian, who specializes in stealth. You work for ISA and will fight against the Helghast, the main villains being Cobar and Armin Metrac. The game gets harder as you get into it, but you can set the levels to easy, medium or hard. You'll need to be witty and be careful of every move. The boss' can be quite hard, especially the last one, who I will leave you to figure out if you get the game.
Let's get on with the Campaign Missions and detailed Storyline. So as I said, you play Templar and you are sent to on a crucially important secret mission to half the progress being made by the Helghast invasion force in southern Vekta (A small planet mainly controlled by the Helghast). The Campaign mode is comprised of four chapters, each containing four individual missions. Throughout these missions, you get to drive a tank, a hovercraft, but the majority of the time, you're on foot and it seems to be the most fun, since you get to throw nades, set land mines, shoot and knock out pesky Helghast, duck, etc. You even get to use a Jetpack at one point.
Gameplay is brilliant. As mentioned before, I love the third person view so you can plan your attack and see what you're up against before you make your move. I also love the ideas of the Helghast's eyes changing colour to tell you whether they're unaware of your presence, suspicious or they know completely about you and plan to attack you. I also love the complexity of the controls. There's lots to do, yet easy to get a hold of. You can roll, target an enemy, crouch, shoot, hit people, climb into a tank or hovercraft, controlling a machine gun turret, setting bombs, commanding your partner, shoot from cover and so much more. The Tactical Command System is also amazing. I love controlling a partner, especially when the time slows down when you enter the system to give you a little time to view your options. Overall, the gameplay is perfect.
Graphics...wow. I can't stress this part enough. The graphics are way too good to be true. Explosions look amazing, building detail is deep, Character movement is smooth and there are no sharp edges. Gunfire is breathtaking, especially if you hit metal with a bullet and you see sparks. Gas looks real, water looks awesome when you're waking in it, or in your hovercraft. There are just so many tiny details that make the graphics ten times more than perfect. When you get in a tank, you see little puffs of air escape as you start it up. Brilliant. You even see the glowing eyes of the Helghast. When you're on missions, every cargo box is detailed, every patch of grass, ever ripple of water, every explosion, ever gunshot, every barrel. I can go on forever.
There are so many weapons to choose from and options to choose from before starting a mission, etc. You can add packs before you start like faster C4 planting. Weapons range from the IvP-18 Tropov Machine Pistol, to the StA-S2 SLAR Sniper Rifle to the Crossbow and VC1 Flamethrower to the M3 Revolver, plus many more.
What's also great is that during missions, you reach checkpoints, so if you die, you can choose to restart at the last checkpoint.
A series of bonus challenge games can be played for each of the four chapters. Each chapter of Challenge Games is unlocked by beating the associated chapter in Campaign mode. Games include Target Practice, where you must shoot out as many targets as you can within a time limit and Spidermine Catch, where you must lure a number of robotic spiders into crates before the time runs out. There are also a few more, that are quite fun. Each Challenge map is related to the chapter. Select a Challenge Game to view the conditions for obtaining a bronze, silver or gold medal for that particular game.
Sounds are great. Gunfire, bombs, grenades, Helghast screams and curses. The sound as Helgast falls into the water, the tank starting up, the hovercraft blowing across the water...everything is real.
This game supports game sharing so you can give your friends three levels of the game for free. It also has Ad-Hoc mode where you can play with your up to six of your friends that have the game. In Combat Zone, you can try Death Match. Team Death Match, Assault and Capture the Flag. In Death Match, it's all-against-all mayhem. Achieve as many kills as you can during the time limits. In Team Death Match is the same as Death Match, but now you are split into two teams, each aiming to eliminate each other. Points are awarded for killing an enemy, but it will be deducted for killing a team-mate. In Assault, the ISA must defend a key objective against attack from the Helghast. In Capture the Flag, your objective is to capture the other teams flag and return it to your base. There is also Campaign Co-op where you can play levels of the Campaign together. I, myself have only tried the Deathmatch and it was really fun, but a radar wouldn't have hurt since it takes awhile to find people sometimes, but that might've ruined the fun.
Well, there's so much to say about this game, but I'll end by saying it's brilliantly played out. Killzone excels in everything, from gameplay, storyline, graphics, etc. There is barely room for improvement. It would've been nice to have an infrastructure mode, but it's fine. Best graphics in my opinion on the PSP so far. Loved the gameplay. My only complaint on the storyline is that it starts on the PS2, goes onto PSP for number 2 and finishes on the PS3, so you have to buy all consoles to find out what happens. When I completed Killzone: Liberation, I was devastated that it left me hanging like that. You have to try this game out! The controls are a little hard to get at first, but there is a tutorial at the beginning of the game that is automatically turned on during the first level, but you can turn it off later. My only other tiny beef was that when you finsiht he campaign, it gets boring as the challenge games will get repetative. I highly recommend this to almost anyone. I hope this review helped. Now go liberate!
