"Rocky Balboa has plenty of heart, but it's counted out by a poor fighting system and frustrating controls."

"In terms of presentation Rocky Balboa is pretty top notch for PSP. The boxing animations and character models are great, and the tone of the commentary suits the game well too, with play by play calls as well as typically over the top colour commentary like "There hasn't been a display of force like this since the big bang." Sadly, the commentary isn't as smooth as we'd like, instead sounding a little disjointed in the way sentences are strung together. But you know what? It's a pretty well rounded package, and all the licensed music and the film footage really do give the game an authentic Rocky feel that's hard to beat. And besides, when Mr T appears in a game within a minute of booting it up, it has to be doing something right."

"Rocky Balboa the game is the complete opposite of Rocky Balboa the movie. That is, it isn't very interesting and it has a severe lack of fun. Had the control scheme been simplified and the movements been made looser, Rocky could have had a better chance. Stronger quality control and faster load times would have helped too. As it stands now, though, the Italian Stallion's last fight isn't a memorable one... or to quote Rocky's trainer Duke from the previous motion picture, "It's a hurtin' bomb.""
