THE GOOD: In my opinion, the compositions of this game were outstanding. Except for a few annoying songs, (I was ready to hang myself after three minutes of walking around Balamb Garden) I was very pleased. I was stunned by the graphics, especially if you take an account for the time period it was devised. The characters, as in most Final Fantasy games, looked very detailed and true to their nature. Though the card game served to have no actual point, unless you consider refining one to 100 mega-lixers to be a prominent point, it was fun to collect them anyway. This was my one of my first RPG's and I felt that it was an overall halfway decent game
THE BAD: First off, I take in all of the words expressed by the previous reviews towards the storyline. All of you that have wrote something like: This is a classic story that provides an extreme amount of depth for all of it's characters, need to compare it to getting your fingernails pulled out. Beacause, I...
SUMMARY: This my favourite game of the series. Right from the opening move you know this is going to be a great game. You are squall and member of Balamb Garden ad part of a mercenary group called SeeD. They are trained to fight the sorceress who is planning to se time compression to invade the world. The game has fantastic graphics for this period of PSX gaming. There is also the inclusion of GF (Guardian Force). They are the same as the summon creatures from FF7.What is new is the junction system. Which allows you to raise characters attributes by junction magic to a particular stat to raise it. Another feature is that enemies level up as you do. So easy battles are hard to come by. A fantastic game with awesome weapons, battles system, storyline, FMVs and a beautiful music.
THE GOOD: Radical storyline, awesome battle system, catchy music, Great characters, man...I could go on...^_~ (My husband Zell is in it, YEAH!!) 00
THE BAD: Nothing I can think of, really!
SUMMARY: The main character of FF8 is none-other than Squall, cold, heart-less student of Balamb Garden.(well, thats the impression you get when you first see him anyway...^_~) This is where Squall's (and many other peoples) adventure begins...at this point, Squall has no idea how important his role really is...
This game HAS to be in my top 5 gaming shrine. The characters are put into the story so carefully, you really get into it and it feels as though they are almost real! The battles are great. They are challenging, and also there is so much magic to use and so many cute, strong new GFs to play around with!
THE BAD: But does the bad side follow close behind? Read on to find out.
SUMMARY: Im new to this review idea, but like I said, be fair for a game, don't be blind just because you love it, don't hide from its flaws. Final Fantasy 8 is my FAV Final Fantasy game, but I do take honor and realising its faults. The good you ask? The good points about this game are the following.
Graphics are a big improvement over Sqaure Soft's Final Fantasy 7. More detail is put into the characters so much detail that NOW they look real. Their size is of a real human body, and they have fingers this time around! face expressions are low, with simple eye blinks, but this is passed by since it was made in the playstation one life line where face expressions were RARE if not NONE (inless your talking about CG videos, THEN your talking about great facial expression and overall fantastic graphics that are still great...
THE GOOD: It is a prodigy among the final fantasy series in its own right, whether it maybe be its spectacular graphics considering it was the game made after FF7 (when the graphics were not the best). It has something about it that appeals to the younger generation, dealing with many issues that people face in everyday life, love, betrayal, honour, friendship, and trust! Which combine well with its intriguing story line.
When playing Final Fantasy VIII I found it hard to comment upon the bad, since I was so enwrapped in the GOOD of the game! Whether Final fantasy 7 fans are disappointed with it, there is a huge fan base for it even till this very day.
Fact!: It sold more coppies than even Square Soft's (or Enix now) top FF game ever created, final fantasy 7! (sorry this was only in Japan i think), so it deserves consideration for that.
Fact!: It was said to have the best Graphics ever made on playstation, no other...
THE GOOD: Extremely good graphics. Amazing soundtrack. The best characters of any game (I am Squall) Storyline rocks. Junction system rules. Battle system is actually fun. Perfect length. Ton of sidequests. The list could go on forever.
THE BAD: If the game had any bad, would I give it a perfect score? I think not.
SUMMARY: Many people love this game, many people hate it. I think it's one of the best games of all time, and you should do everything to get your hands on this amazing title.
THE BAD: Only a few pointless bits in it. But you'll be so wrapped up in the story, you won't even notice it.
SUMMARY: Final Fantasy VIII (8) is, in my opinion, the best RPG in the whole history of games. It has FANTASTIC music, good battles, cool characters, and everything else that's good in a game.
To give you a rundown: You are Squall Leonheart, a SeeD (that's the name of the soldiers) and pretty much a loner. He doesn't like talking to anyone and he hates carrying other peoples burden. But when he, Selphie and Zell (two other SeeDs) are called out for a job - to help Rinoa Heartilly assasinate the president - they had no idea what was in store for them... An evil sorceress plans on taking over the world, and Squall must stop her before it's too late. They meet many people on the way, who decide to join their quest. But above all things, this story is about Squall and Rinoa falling in love (I've heard...
THE GOOD: Great graphics, nice story, and fun fighting system.
THE BAD: Story line is a bit off at times, and Squall ain't no Cloud lol.
SUMMARY: I enjoyed this game alhough my first time playing I really expected a lot because of all the hype and I was kind of disappointed. After playing a few times I really started to like it and enjoy it. It's no FF7 but still very good. This game is a must buy.
THE GOOD: IT is the most awsome game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE BAD: SLIPPPPP THISSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SUMMARY: this is the first game i ever play rpg before. When i first play it, it awsome. I mean it got the plot, the action that i just wanna jump in the game, and the compelling story line. It have a lot of hype. rEally this is the beessst game eveer, In my perspective. And I bet most of the guys out there have the same view as me.
SUMMARY: This is a very worthy follow-up to FFVII, but it was never going to be better. Some things have changed in this game - there's no MP, and instead you have to stock up on spells and you can have a maximum of 100 of each. Guardian Forces take the place of summons and they are assigned to characters and give them certain abilities, so you control the way your characters grow. Magic can be junctioned against a character's stats to improve them. This was excellent, I found it to be a better way than materia. Another improvement on FFVII was the towns and cities - they're huge in this game and very entertaining too.
The characters are all good, and have well-defined personalities. Enemies and bosses are a little easy, which was why this game doesn't get a perfect score from me. One excellent addition to this game was the card game - this is really...
