THE GOOD:
• At the time, these graphics were the best you could ask for. It rivals many, many games on the PSX.
• The story is absoultely gripping, interesting from the first CODEC call to the last. Humor, Love, Tragedy and Drama are rolled up into one huge cinema.
• Characters are richly diverse, each carries his or her own unique personality, faults, trademarks, talents in battle, whether it be a boss or a comrade.
• Speaking of the Bosses, you face FOX-HOUND units in this game, in some of the best boss battles I have ever experienced in my life. Your confrontations against Sniper Wolf, Metal Gear Rex, Vulcan Raven and Liquid Snake among the notables will leave pleasure in your heart forver.
• The music is extremely gripping, each song suits it's environment. Low, depressing music for Mantis's tragic plight, high-paced for most of the boss battles. A musical triumph!
• Endings are excellent.

THE BAD:

• NO...
• THE GOOD:
Storyline
Snake himself
Ocelot
The FoxDie thing

THE BAD:
Graphics (although it is PSX)
Torture
Running back and forth

SUMMARY:
This is my all-time favourate game for the Playstation. I have completed it over 20 times and I'm still not bored of it.
The game's challenging, funny, tense, and many other things.
The boss fights are good.

The only thing I didn't really like was the pal code input part at the end, running back and forth making the card be at certain room temperatures.

Torture was also annoying, you have to have a certain control pad which has auto buttons on it.
I only survived torture once without using one of those and that time I broke BiGbHaArLoKzMoN's O button on his control.

The story was really, really good, and I think they should make a Metal Gear Solid movie becuase this game is so awesome! Game rate...

THE GOOD:
Awsome sound(and the voice-overs),good graphics for its time, controls are amazing, gameplay is very fun,a lot of replay value, this game has more cheats than a scam-artist!

THE BAD:
Well the only bad thing is that some of the voices can get a bit annoying(Mei-Ling im talking about you)

SUMMARY:
Hey!! I still have my Playstation hooked up and Im playin' MGS. I know what youre saying " But Freak 2345 nobody plays MGS for the PSX anymore". TOO BAD FOR YOU!! is what I say. This game really delivers what it tries to do:stealth action. It had very good graphics for its time and the controles are very easy. I don't know about you but Im a sucker for these games. So get a copy and play it on youre PSX or youre PS2's.

I did this review retro style, man!!!

METAL GEAR SOLID
PLAYSTATION:

Imagine being undercover and you're trying to find and destroy a
gruesome machine. You're a cold blooded murderer and you must do
whatever is needed. Well, Metal Gear Solid does all of this.

GAMEPLAY:
5/5
Well, Metal Gear Solid is no 'walk in the park' as they say. It isn't
'easy as pie' as some say. Metal Gear Solid's gameplay is a marvelous
thing, it seems as you are acctually looking for the DARPA Chief! You
are Snake, the maine character, crawling in a Ventalation Shaft and
you are trying not to bum your head in the narrow passage. You hear a
"beep"; it's your codec. You pick up and the Colonel tells you the
chief is up ahead. You then started crawling alittle faster... You
then see a green-like cover to cover the huge hole in the Ventalation
shaft. You look down. As you look you notice that this person is not
the DARPA Chief. You know because this person is a woman. She is...
Hot foot, Hot foot!

Call me snake I retired for a while now I am not a hero or a legend I am just a solder who is good at what he does "killing." The only hero's I know are all dead or in prison. I was trained for stealth missions I live in Alaska and 2 hrs ago I was imprisoned strip searched and my weapons and items were taken away (with the exception of my cigs and scope.) Seems like it was a month ago I was tangling with polar bears now I've have to hide scrape by and steal to survive. If that makes me dishonorable than so be it. The only person I care about is me.

This is a tactical game you must use the few items at your disposal to stop a nuclear equipped walking battle tank known as metal gear. You have secondary missions to Rescue the hostages and it becomes personal after many betrayals and many facts become clear.

This is a well thought out game and with plenty of voice acting you know it must cost a bundle to make there are cheap deaths at times but...
THE GOOD:
Great graphics.
Fantastic storyline.
Cool bosses.
The people move properly.
There is a great range of weapons and equipment.
And many, many more.

THE BAD:
The bad? There are bad points??? Who wrote this??

SUMMARY:
This has been said to be the best PSX game EVER. Well, they're right. This IS the best PSX game ever!!! As I said up top, the graphics are fantastic. Getting shot has never looked so good!! The bosses look cool and can do unique things. The people who shoot you have never looked so good. There are a lot of different weapons and items, all given by there real names. The things you shoot with have never been so good!!! The plot is fantastic, it keeps you hooked right up to the end. The reason you shoot people has never been so good.
Let's stop that now because you probably want a straight answer at the end.
This is a fantastic game you really must buy this. If you don't really like shoot 'em up's, well,...

THE GOOD:
Excellent Characters, Awesome Graphics, A Gripping Storyline, and much more!

THE BAD:
Humhp, unheard of! A flaw in Metal Gear Solid! Impossible!

SUMMARY:
Metal Gear Solid, without a doubt is one of the best video games to ever come out of Konami, and for that, the whole video game industry. With extremely lifelike characters that you can connect with, stunning graphics, and of course a truly cinimatic, gripping storyline in which there are multiple endings. If the story wasn't good enough already, Solid Snake has been taken to the next level, facing the tough Genome army, and the smart and skilled members of Fox-Hound, to Snake's own genetic clone who is hell-bent on taking revenge on his father, [Big Boss], Liquid Snake. It is an excellent game and I cannot express how grateful I am to Konami Industries for producting such a perfect game!

This game was my most favorite of all and still is. I remember playing it long ago when I was very young. Although I don't play it anymore (Suprisingly it gets old) it is still the best of all time, I think. The remake (Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes) remasters the game so well. It turns this classic into an unforgettable masterpiece. It also holds many memories.
The story/plot was amazing. There is a purpose in the game which is rare in many games today; as they give fake purpses and don't have much meaning. The different techniques in the game were really fun. The action in the game was very entertaining. I liked how they used actual places, times, and events in the story. The realistic features also were fun to see. I'll never forget this game. I loved it.

THE GOOD:
-Graphics (for the PS1)
-Weapons & Items
-Story
-A.I. and bosses

THE BAD:
-No FPV shooting
-Camera can be bad at times

SUMMARY:
This is the best stealth game made for the PSX. I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes stealth games, a wide variety of weapons, and a great story.

In the game, you are Solid Snake, one of the two last surviving "sons" of Big Boss. You are coming out of retirement to help counteract a terrorist action. The story delves deeper and deeper the further you progress in the game. You must rescue the DARPA chief and the ArmsTech president. But the story starts to become more twisted and complicated. It's too good to give away. It has the best story I've ever seen.

There are hardly any bad things about MGS. It has great graphics after you consider that it was made for the PS1. It also has a wide selection of weapons, inclduing a handgun, machine gun, plastic explosives, grenades, land mines,...
