THE GOOD: Everything! This is the best PS1 game and the best game I have ever played, and I'm still saying this since I got it back in Christmas of 1998!
THE BAD: You're joking right?
SUMMARY: Everything is perfect! I can't stress that enough. This a revolutionary title that will remain a classic for years to come. This is THE single best game I have ever had the privilage of playing. The story is Marvelous, the BEST in any game OR Movie! The gameplay accompanies the story with unique tasks not found in any other game to date!
GRAPHICS- For it's time, these were the best graphics seen in a video game. The level of detail is amazing, so amazing in fact that a lot of games TODAY don't have! Footprints left in the snow, sound alerting guards, hearing the sounds of a blow-dryer when you walk up to it, and even a Playstation right next to a TV can be found! And lets not forget when you fight the ninja, this part probably shows the most...
THE GOOD: Excellent storyline, great graphics, good musical score, well-developed characters, highly detailed, plenty of extras, very enjoyable to play. Did I say good storyline?
THE BAD: The controls take a little while to get acustomed to and you you don't have total control on how you can configure them, only a selection from different schemes.
SUMMARY: This game is a classic. What little flaws it may have can be easily overlooked. Metal Gear Solid is a blast to play with an intensely gripping storyline, honestly one of the best I've ever seen for a video game. Once you complete it, you will instantly want to play through it again. The music in this game only makes it that much better and while the controls may take some time to get used, you'll have them down in no time. There are a plenty of secrets to unlock and lots of things to explore in-game. It should be a crime to not own this game.
Metal Gear Solid is the third installment of the 'Metal Gear' series created by Hideo Kojima. The game has gained massive popularity and respect all over the gaming community for its incredible quality in every aspect of what makes a game good. Since its release in 1999 there has been one sequel and a few spin-off games that have included VR Missions and non-series linear stories, the series has since expanded to the Playstation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, and Game Boy attracting a rather large crowd of fans.
The main reason why I picked this game up is because of how much I liked MGS2, and also it was cheap, only about $15. I must say that I am truly impressed at how well Kojima and his team created this game and how well it all plays out. I almost didn't buy this game because I was worried that the graphics would suck and it would just be pretty bad in general since most of the PSX games that I have played have all been sub-par. I was dead wrong about that....
THE GOOD: Excellent Characters, Awesome Graphics, A Gripping Storyline, and much more!
THE BAD: Humhp, unheard of! A flaw in Metal Gear Solid! Impossible!
SUMMARY: Metal Gear Solid, without a doubt is one of the best video games to ever come out of Konami, and for that, the whole video game industry. With extremely lifelike characters that you can connect with, stunning graphics, and of course a truly cinimatic, gripping storyline in which there are multiple endings. If the story wasn't good enough already, Solid Snake has been taken to the next level, facing the tough Genome army, and the smart and skilled members of Fox-Hound, to Snake's own genetic clone who is hell-bent on taking revenge on his father, [Big Boss], Liquid Snake. It is an excellent game and I cannot express how grateful I am to Konami Industries for producting such a perfect game!
SUMMARY: Metal gear solid is the third instalment of the series and the first on the playstation. This game revolutionised the gaming industry. A must for every pSx owner ! Sneak up on a guard and pop a cap in his ass ! Or use C4 Or the old fasioned way off strangling the guard. Perfection in games !!
SUMMARY: I like the game because there is lots of challnges. There should also be a movie beacause all the other games have movies. I thimk this would be a great action movie. There should also be a part two for playstation one beacause the game is so good.
THE GOOD: ~ Game-play is unmatched as far as other action/adventure PS1 games go. ~ Graphics use all 32-bits of the PS1's power. ~ Characters are incredibly detailed, with very creative names. ~ Plenty of cool weapons and accessories. ~ Best interactive game I've ever played. ~ Mutliple endings with different rewards. ~ Cinematic experience rivaled only by actual movies. ~ Amazing story. (Haunting, humorous, suspenseful)
THE BAD: Like many others, I wish it were longer.
SUMMARY: One of my two favorite PS1 games ever. This game will leave you craving for more, and you'll un-doubtedly think about the storyline a lot. I'll go ahead and say 'revolutionary', because it was. It was a cinematic 3D experience, coupled with great stealth game-play, characters, and weapons. Play this game because it's one of the best in it's category, on any console. Hideo Kojima is a video game genius.
THE GOOD: -Graphics (for the PS1) -Weapons & Items -Story -A.I. and bosses
THE BAD: -No FPV shooting -Camera can be bad at times
SUMMARY: This is the best stealth game made for the PSX. I'd reccomend it to anyone who likes stealth games, a wide variety of weapons, and a great story.
In the game, you are Solid Snake, one of the two last surviving "sons" of Big Boss. You are coming out of retirement to help counteract a terrorist action. The story delves deeper and deeper the further you progress in the game. You must rescue the DARPA chief and the ArmsTech president. But the story starts to become more twisted and complicated. It's too good to give away. It has the best story I've ever seen.
There are hardly any bad things about MGS. It has great graphics after you consider that it was made for the PS1. It also has a wide selection of weapons, inclduing a handgun, machine gun, plastic explosives, grenades, land mines,...
This game was my most favorite of all and still is. I remember playing it long ago when I was very young. Although I don't play it anymore (Suprisingly it gets old) it is still the best of all time, I think. The remake (Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes) remasters the game so well. It turns this classic into an unforgettable masterpiece. It also holds many memories. The story/plot was amazing. There is a purpose in the game which is rare in many games today; as they give fake purpses and don't have much meaning. The different techniques in the game were really fun. The action in the game was very entertaining. I liked how they used actual places, times, and events in the story. The realistic features also were fun to see. I'll never forget this game. I loved it.
At the time, these graphics were the best you could ask for. It rivals many, many games on the PSX.
The story is absoultely gripping, interesting from the first CODEC call to the last. Humor, Love, Tragedy and Drama are rolled up into one huge cinema.
Characters are richly diverse, each carries his or her own unique personality, faults, trademarks, talents in battle, whether it be a boss or a comrade.
Speaking of the Bosses, you face FOX-HOUND units in this game, in some of the best boss battles I have ever experienced in my life. Your confrontations against Sniper Wolf, Metal Gear Rex, Vulcan Raven and Liquid Snake among the notables will leave pleasure in your heart forver.
The music is extremely gripping, each song suits it's environment. Low, depressing music for Mantis's tragic plight, high-paced for most of the boss battles. A musical triumph!
