R4: Ridge Racer Type 4

Ridge Racer Type 4 came out at about the same time as the classic that is known as Gran Tourismo came out. When you compare R4 to Gran Tourismo, you will notice that the two games are very similar.

The graphics were both state of the art at the time, and they both have an insane amount of cars. But to true racing fans, there will be some major differences. One being, the style of racing. If you are looking for a great racing simulator, go out and get Gran Tourismo. However, if you want to have a great arcade style racer R4 is the way to go.

The great thing about R4 is it is still fun to play today, but it is not the best racing game out there any more. That title would definatly go to Gran Tourismo 3. But if you are looking for a racing game that does not cost as much, I would recomend R4: Ridge Racer Type 4.
