Xenogears

THE BAD:
nothing in general..only graphics- partially

SUMMARY:
STORY ..merely can't be described in such review.the best since 198s and until now.not only it is just exciting and like no other rpg,but it has lots of pretty deep references and indeed great sense.for example,developers used F.Nietzsche's philosophy and S.Freud's works,besides,it has pretty much religious references.honestly when playing this game for the first time a few years back I couldn't appreciate it in full.only later,grown up and when I've read mentioned above phylosophers,I've appreciated this story completely..so it is really a worthy masterpiece.

GAMEPLAY great,fantastic battle system,better and deeper than ANY other rpg,hard bosses and exciting , absolutely NOT-repetitive random battles.dungeons' size and difficulty are great.besides,in this game you'll fight as characters and their giant robots-Gears,so there are in general two battle systems.

Soundtrack is very good,one of the most enjoyable on PS1.

Characters' personalities are deeper and higher than any other game,maybe only Final fantasy 7 is on the same level,but Xenogears' are with much more mature content,and as I already said-with serious references.

Graphics are different in towns and battles:in towns they are 2d sprites and partly 3d,partly 2d landscape;and in battles they are full 3d.



Conclusion: if you, for some reasons,still haven't played Xenogears,go and get this game,because it is literally indeed the best role playing gaming experience.
