THE GOOD:
  • Great graphics for an SNES game.
  • Challenging and some good music
  • Remade for the Gameboy Advance for anyone like me who doesn't have a working SNES.

THE BAD:

  • A bit too challenging in some parts
  • Simple storyline
  • Levels are nearly similar in basic design

SUMMARY:
Donkey Kong Country 1. This was a great game for me. It has challenges, fun boss fights, good graphics, and fantastic music, especially with the last boss. However, the fun was sometimes ripped away in the challenging levels, which this game has plenty of.

THE GOOD:
The graphics are very good for a Super Nintendo game. The gameplay is good and all that kinda stuff.

THE BAD:
It's really annoying at times. The kind of annoying where you get close to throwing your SNES through a window.

SUMMARY:
First of all, I must say once again that, for SNES, the graphics are really good. (Sadly enough, I have N64 games and GameCube games with worse graphics. Sad, isn't it? But, would I lie to you? Never!) Anyway, the gameplay is good. There's a lot of secrets in the game and fun, little bonus things where you are one of the other, non-monkey animals collecting all this stuff to get a lot of lives (Which, for some reason, lives in this game are creepy looking-balloons, why? We shall never know.) Anyway, I think the plot of this game is the Kremlings (weird, crocodile things) stole Donkey Kong's bananas. Yep. Nothing more to say about that. The areas are challenging sometimes (especially the Rock...

THE GOOD:
You get to play as Donkey and Diddy.
Multi-player is great fun.

THE BAD:
Graphics arn't the best ever.
Gets really annoying at some parts of the game.

SUMMARY:
Donkey Kong Country was the first of the three Donkey Kong games for the SNES. The graphics on this game i have to admit arn't the greatest ever but it doesn't affect the gameplay in any way at all. The levels are made pretty well and some can be tricky, especially when you want all the bonuses. There are also fifty levels so quite a way to get through. The two characters are the leaders of The Kong family pack, Donkey and Diddy and it's great fun to play through as them. The controls are nice and simple rather than being complex so it makes it easier for the player.

Overall i'd have to say it's a really great game just not as good as the other two.

THE GOOD:
The first of a series of great Donkey Kong games. A classic, a true classic indeed. D.K teaming up with your buddy Diddy and beating up the enemies was awesome. The levels, oppenents, and animals you could use were really cool. What I most liked about this game was the music. Very catchy and you always sang this song to yourself while doing something. I really thought Nintendo did a good job with that.

Another thing that I loved about this game was facing the bosses. Each bosse was unique and had his own special abilities, but what I liked the most about them was that they were really cool and they really were fun to face off against.

THE BAD:
I really don't have something bad to say about this game. Maybe the graphics but mainly the reason why the graphics were a bit bad was because this game was created a long time ago.

THE GOOD:
50 stages, 8 levels.

THE BAD:
Graphics aren't the best.

SUMMARY:
Ever since this game was released a decade ago on November 25th, 1994, I have been playing it at least once every month, which is good for an SNES game. The ratings don't lie either.

Graphics: 3/5: Not bad for 1994, but some items are flimsy and hard to view. The visual parts are not that bad even for a side-scroller of this stature.

Gameplay: 5/5: Even though I have beat the game more times than necessary, it still is fun to play it all over again...

Sound: 5/5: Crisp and clear, I love the sounds and shades of the jungle, and especially the DK and Diddy Kong grunts that fill up the forests and many lands.

Long-Lasting Appeal: 5/5: Well if it has lasted more than nine years for me it really should not be a problem.

Overall: 4.5/5.0: This game is one of the best to ever come out on the SNES, and truly will be a joy to everyone for years...
