"This collection is filled with classic sidescrolling shooters that anyone can enjoy. The gameplay is fun, it's humorous and it's challenging. Whether you are a longtime fan of Metal Slug or have never played one before, Metal Slug Anthology is a game that you need to play on your Wii."

"I think this anthology should have been better. True, the most important part of this anthology, the games, are faithfully represented in their true arcade form and theyre as fun as ever. The extras are nice, but poorly presented which is a constant complaint for this release outside of the games themselves. Lastly, the control schemes are numerous and ultimately I think youll find at least one that fits your style of play, but there was room left for improvement in that department as well. Bottomline, for $40, the Metal Slug Anthology is a recommended purchase."

"The breakneck action of SNK's playfully over-the-top military shooter series still holds up, despite compromised motion controls and additional load times."

"At best, Metal Slug Anthology is a good and mindless shooter that's perfect for wasting an hour or two when you need a break from Twilight Princess. Ideally, you'll buy it because you already know you like the Metal Slug series and you want to have some kind of perfect archival copy of each game that you can play on your Wii."

"A fun, albeit no-frills, collection of one of the most beloved franchises in arcade gaming and a great value for hardcore fans of the series."
