SUMMARY:
When Resident Evil 4 first came out on the Gamecube a few years ago, it changed gaming history with interactive cut scenes and mind blowing graphics. With that success Namcom have decided to bring it to Nintendo's new console the Wii, but is it for the good or bad ?

Ill start with an overview of the game. You are an government agent called Leon Kennedy, and is looking for the young president's daughter who had been kidnapped. A sighting of her has been seen in a rural Spanish village and is your job to investigate. Straight from the beginning, you are thrown into the action with a crazy axe man in your way, but as you progress through the game, he will be at the back of your mind.

Another thing that makes this game the best in the series is the AI. The AI in this game are not like your usual zombies, who were faced in previous versions. They are no normal human beings, but have been infected with a bug which allows them to be controllered under there "master" who I wont review so I wont spoil anything. The AI, will dodge, duck, attack in groups and overall, they will think. This makes it more challenging then usual other resident evil games.

One mission which is a great example of this is when they have forced you to hide in a house. The grandos ( human/zombie guys ) then start to smash windows and get ladders to smash through windows to get to the top floor so they invade the house and more importantly, get you.

A person who you will meet over the course of the game is " The Merchant" The merchant sells you guns, accessories, herbs etc. and you can sell treasure for more money, so you can see he is a important charecter in the game. While talking about the merchant I will talk about variety of guns. The guns vary from Shotguns, Hand Guns, Snipers and mischellenous other weapons, which contain secret hidden weapons

The audio in this game is fine. Also with the unique speaker in the Wii-mote everytime you shoot and slash with your knife you will hear a nice little sound which comes out. The dialogue in this game is also perfect, and make the people seem realistic. Audio is a big factor of this game as it is set in Spain, and you will hear all the grandos shout spanish words such as kill him etc. in spanish which adds to the creepness of the game.

Let me say that IMO it is one the best third person shooters you can find. The action part of this game is perfect, and as you progress you will start to find a place in your heart for this game. At first the storyline sounds pretty boring. Government's daughter has been kidnapped, you save her and come home finished, you would think this, but my god that is no where near that. The twists you will find get you completely gripped with this game, and will most of the time keep you on a cliff hanger after each game.

Now argueably the best point of this game, the replayablity of it. The amount of unlockables you get, only for the first time you finish the game is brilliant, but I won't spoil anything. I had gone through the game 11 times and still needed one more gun for 100% complete, and the first time you go through the game it can take you a easy 20-25 hours, but that will start to descend when you go through it again.

Now the negatives. The only one thing that bugs me about this version of the game is, the graphics. Three years ago, they were superb, but now the levels have raised, and they just basically not good enough, but they will do.

Now this negative is not Capcom's fault, neither Nintendo's but the controls this time are perfect. Its much easier to get your gun pointing from one side to another, and feels like you really are in control. But what this does do by accident, makes it much easier. This is the first version of resident evil 4 I played, and I completed the game on my first go only dying once due to a interactive scene. The game now is much easier, and makes it more easier for the casual game, but veterans could be a bit upset by this.

Overall Resident Evil 4 is a superb game, with the brilliant storyline and the amount of twists and turns through the game keep you wanting more, but the graphics really keep it back from being one of the best games of all time. I hope you find this helpful.
