THE GOOD:

SUMMARY:
Super Smash Brothers Melee was one of the most popular GameCube games and I can easily see this becoming one the most popular Wii game, if it hasn't already. However, it all started on the Nintendo 64 with a game called Super Smash Brothers. It was a good and fun game. Then about two years later, Super Smash Brothers Melee came out and it was awesome. And now here's this game which is even better than SSBM! And I imagine it wouldn't be easy to improve upon a game like that, but they did it.

As with the two previous games, you get the standard Classic mode. You still fight a giant version of a certain character or a metal version of a certain character. Master Hand is still the final boss of that...

THE GOOD:
This game enjoys a rich diversity in characters. This is not in name alone. The many fighting styles and attributes that each one carries is unique and gives you dozens of opportunities to perfect your game. While the inclusion of Snake and Sonic, which to me seemed like a mistake (being that they were not always not Nintendo), I came to see that they were valuable additions to the series and help to maintain the wide demographic in playable characters.

The Subspace Emissary is excellent. It is a new story mode for the game that dazzles you with amazing, cinematic graphics. It is playable with almost every character throughout various stages of the game. Many people believe this feature to be a poor one, but let me tell you; I really enjoyed. It was a much needed addition.

THE GOOD:
There are many good things about this game. The online, the controls, the control option, and just the way the game handles overall. It gives you a great variety of people to utilize and play with, some unlockable, some playable off the bat. The online is a great way to measure your skills compared to other people.

The controls are awesome, they are simple, and take just a little while to get used to, but nearly no time if you’re a Super Smash Bros. Veteran. They are simple, using face buttons, and virtually no movement involved, which is refreshing, but it doesn’t make use of the Wii innovation enough, so that’s not too great of a thing for me. Also, all of the different control options rock, I love being able to play my cousin, using my Gamecube controller, or using the Wiimote, but mostly I used the Wiimote and Nunchuk combo. Overview: SSBB (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) is the successor to Melee and the original Super Smash bros. (also known as "Smash 64") Ever since E3 2006 Brawl has been one of Nintendo's most anticipated games. This game boasted new characters, such as Pit, Ike, Sonic, and Snake. The game also emphasised on its large amount of options and modes. The adventure mode specifically, was greatly improved and changed so that it was a full fledged story mode.

Gameplay: Although Brawl is thought to be less competitive than Melee, it was still a great game for multiplayer because of its vast amount of characters and multiplayer options/modes. THE GOOD:
New characters that may have you orgasm in your seat, new Final Smash attacks, spectacular cinematic new gameplay mode, online multiplayer.

THE BAD:
The unlockables are way too easy to obtain, the speed has been slowed down, some characters have been downgraded, not all Final Smash attacks are fair-game, clone characters still exist.

SUMMARY:
New-content: New characters (not sure of the number), new game-play modes, online play, map building, awesomely cool finishing attacks, four ways of controlling your character, screenshots and videos are easier than ever to manage, new events, this game has tons of new content.

Controls: The controls in this game are actually pretty decent. You have four ways of using controllers, you may use a Gamecube controller, the classic style controller for the Wii, the Wiimote, or the Wiimote with the Nunchuck attachment. Personally, I use the Wiimote with the Nunchuck because it feels right....

The Super Smash Bros. franchise is one of the most popular series out there, right at the top with Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and even series from other platforms such as Halo! Starting from the original Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64, the developers have aimed to please and have always hit their mark. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was just as a delight to play as the others, but with more modes, characters, levels, and more to make you excited and stimulated just by reading about it! Being one of the most highly anticipated games for over a year now, Brawl does not disappoint.

THE GOOD:
*Some of the best graphics we've seen for the Wii, by far
*Lots of fun additions like Online Play, stage maker, and replay have been added
*You can take snapshots in game instead of having to use the SnapShot mode
*New Characters
*New Stages
  • Adventure Mode with plot, Bosses, and Side Scrolling levels

THE BAD:
*No real changes to the Smash Bros. formula, and gameplay can get stale

  • A few characters from the previous installment are missing
  • Stage builder isn't completely sufficient, and you cannot add water, or Land formations without using blocks

  • Smashes are a very easy and cheap way to become the victor of a match

The point of the Super Smash Brothers series is to provide wildly fun fighting action without all the demanding timing tricks or memorization, so the controls are a snap. Each character has a punch button and a special moves button, which when combined with very simple directional movements result in a surprising array of clever attacks. The levels are wildly inventive, the fancy power-ups ensure lots of crazy action, and the variety of characters is staggering. Up to four people can play at once and the game has full support for old Gamecube controllers, so you might not have to shell out the money for extra Wiimotes.

- The amazing series returns, making its debut on the Wii; everything has been pretty much perfected
- Amazing multiplayer fun; play with friends or skilled computer opponents (Group Play or Solo Play)
- Huge selection of characters to use (30+); lots of great new characters; the character selection list is one of the best things about the game
- Huge selection of maps to fight on; 50+, new and old, and even a stage builder (it is really fun to make stages to fight on)
- The new storyline mode, Subspace Emissary, is really fun and funny, and is a great addition to the series; 7+ hours to complete

- TONS of unlockables, including many characters and maps
