SUMMARY:
The Good:
Backwards Compatibility
The first notable achievement about the wii is how versatile it is when it comes to olfer games. It can play all the GameCube titles you knew and loved, no memory card needed. It's all contained on an inner Hard Drive.
Innovative Controls
Ok so what we all know and have known since the announcement of the Wii is it's ground breaking control system. It consists of the usual A, X, B, Y, Start/select, 1 and 2 buttons on the left side of the controller. Then on the right, we have the analogue stick and the C button, also known as the Nunchuck. They're connected by a wire which disconnects from the original controller piece. Each one fits in the palm of your hand.
The notable part about the controller is it's motion sensitivity. It picks up on a sensor bar placed above or below your screen and can be used for everything from Bow and Arrow action to Surgery by hand. A truly revolutionary piece of kit.
Classic Games, Old and New and the virtual Console.
On the virtual console, every one of a Nintendo Fan's wildest dreams come true. Ever wanted to revisit Legend Of Zelda: OoT? Well with the Virtual console you can. Plenty of old games like Mario, Zelda and Metroid, all available for a fraction of their original cost.
Not to mention the new versions of the old games. Metroid: Corruption, Mario Galaxy, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; all games that will have any gamer wanting a Wii.
The Price.
Now what everyone loves about the Wii is the price. It's the cheapest of the new consoles on the market by a country mile. Comes with a game in toe too, Wii Sports, which is very good for a stock game. Endless multiplayer fun too.
The Bad:
Graphics.
It has to be said, the graphics on the Wii are pretty bog standard. They're about the same as the newest PS2 games. But as most people have seen, the graphics are not what the Wii is about. The Wii is all about the community, Wii meaning We. It's about mulitplayer with friends and online and fun, so when we look at it that way, the graphics aren't that much of a negative.
So all in all, the Wii is a great console. It's vaule for money and it's an all around great gaming experience.
