What They Say:

"Heavy Metal is a fun little game that gets a bit too repetitive for its own good. It's a well conceived shooter with some nice presentation and it does a fine job organizing the achievements. Opting for flat terrain and repetitive scrolling backgrounds perhaps wasn't the greatest decision in light of the limited enemy variety presented towards the end of the game where everything starts to feel redundant. Still, in short spurts Heavy Weapon can be good fun and is a nice diversion from more thought intensive games."
"Heavy Weapon's arcade-style shooting is incredibly appealing, especially when you get into the ridiculous action in the multiplayer modes."
"Heavy Weapon is largely a game that we’ve seen before. Maybe not on Xbox Live Arcade, but it’s certainly a premise that should feel very familiar to anyone who set foot in an arcade in the past twenty years. That’s not to say that Heavy Weapons (H-Dub for short) is a bad game - it is in fact the opposite - but its gameplay has largely been done before. Where the game really separates itself from the pack is the armory functionality, its visual style, and the super weapons that it gives to players. The gameplay feels wonderful, even new in parts, the visuals bring a new flair to a classic style game, and the multiplayer trimmings are just icing. Aside from a few frustrations, Heavy Weapon is yet another winner deserving of your hard-earned coin."
