THE GOOD:
Variety of monsters
Levels lead up to a "Finale"
Solid Achievements
Great on-line play
"Pain Pills"

THE BAD:
Not enough weapons
Need more maps
Non-special infected (the horde) too easy
Not enough maps for on-line play

SUMMARY:
When I started playing Left 4 Dead, I was instantly addicted. The fact that it is four people, versus thousands and thousands of horde is just phenomenal. What makes this game even more interesting is that there is "special infected". There is the Hunter, the Smoker, the Boomer, and then there is the tank. I like how each special infected interact and are good for just about anything.

But there is also the bad side to Left 4 Dead. I personally think that this game does make up for it's bad mistakes, though. I mean REALLY make up for them.

Another factor that makes this game great is that the achievements are all really solid. You have survivor achievements and infected achievements which makes it more interesting and most of all, gets players to try and get those achievements. The achievements make the game a lot more fun and enjoyable.

One thing that is really neat is that there isn't only First-Aid kits. There are Pain Pills. Pain pills are a temporary healer. The idea of pain pills made my jaw drop of how creative Valve got.

A thing that bothers me though is that there aren't enough weapons. There is only about 11 weapons including:
-Pistol (or dual pistols)
-Shotgun
-Uzi
-Sniper
-Auto Shotgun
-Machine Gun
-Pipe Bomb
-Molotov Cocktails
-Gas tanks, propane tanks, etc.
-Mounted Machine Gun

That's about it. They should have added melee weapons like a baseball bat or a machete IMO. But most of all the should have put in something as basic as a Rocket Launcher. Or they should have a Desert Eagle instead of a lousy ordinary pistol.

When I finished Left 4 Dead I was disappointed that there were only 4 campaigns with 5 maps each. I think they should have taken more time to have more levels in the game.

With basic things still on mind, I would like to say that the ordinary Horde are way too easy! I can take a shotgun, shoot an infected from over 60 feet away and kill him. COME ON! It's like shooting an ordinary human! These are INFECTED. These are ZOMBIES. These enemies AREN'T HUMAN. It should take 2+ shots to kill them from CLOSE RANGE. Make them as difficult to kill as in Resident Evil for pete sakes.

Another thing is that there are only 2 available campaigns for on-line and multi-player play. Why would you take out Death Toll and Dead Air from on-line play? To me it makes no sense.

But other than those errors Left 4 Dead has AMAZING multi-player and on-line game play. You can play as the infected and survivors in a competition to see who does better as the survivors. I play this game all the time and it really makes my day.

I hope that Valve won't make the same mistakes in the sequel. I really am expecting the same impact of content as the first Left 4 Dead had on me. Great game!
