Tetris Evolution

"While Tetris Evolution has enough features to make it worthwhile to anybody looking for a falling block fix, the package simply feels out of place. The Xbox Live Arcade was made for simplistic games just like this and the Tetris Evolution feature set and presentation just isn’t robust enough to warrant a retail release. If you don’t mind dishing out a few extra bucks for a game you’ve played hundreds of time before, just keep in mind that the Xbox 360 controller holds back the gameplay needlessly."

"It's difficult to knock a Tetris port due to the extreme satisfaction of the base Tetris game, but in this fancy-pants next-gen world of the future you have got to bring your "A-game" in order to garner praise. Why this Tetris Evolution wasn't offered over Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft points, I don't know, because it seems better suited to that venue. With the limited variation in modes and the lackluster multiplayer, I simply couldn't justify spending an entire $30 on Tetris Evolution. Especially not when I can get a superior version for my Nintendo DS."
