THE GOOD:- Faster load times
- Exactly the same as ps2 version
THE BAD:
- Controls suck
- Audio wonky
- I've already played the ps2 version like dozen times..it lacks the initial bite gta offered
SUMMARY:
A friend of mine got the xbox version and he asked me to check it out.
Gameplay: The reason why i love GTA games is that most of the gameplay is OPEN ENDED. From choosing to when to do missions for bosses, being a psycho and most of all theres so many ways to approach and pass tasks given to you.You almost can do anything you want in the game. True Crimes is touted as open ended..well in my opinion it isn't. When you fight Lola in one of its missions..your stuck in an area where you virtually can't do anything else but fight her..thats not open ended. In GTA you are not constrained. Take for example a mission called "Four Iron". Your boss avery carrington tells you beat up some guy with golf clubs. But the good thing you don't have to. When you play it..you have to get golf shirt..so that security guards at the golf club let you in and they confescate your weapons..leaving you with a gold club. Your hit has body guards and he jumps in a golt cart making it hard for you to get him. People who aren't gta veterans would try and try to beat him this way (they will eventually) and leave it at that. But gta veterans would look at it in a different way. One way i did in beating this mission was look for hidden packages. You get bonuses for every ten hidden packages you pick up. I eventually picked up the 100 hidden packages and it scored me the hunter (apache helicoper). It has a gatlin gun and two rocket launchers. Once i had that baby..all i had to do was get the shirt and fly to the golf course and wham missioned passed. Another way was to get a sniper rifle (not cheating of course) and a fast bike. Theres several ways into the golf course without going through the secuiry gate..once in you can take him out in one shot! To conclude about gameplay...its probably the most open ended games i've played..theres no menus telling what to do (though theres some intructions that i never follow), its really up to you how you go on about accomplishing the tasks..but it can be trial and error at the beginning since new players aren't familiar with the city.
Conclude: Its just a classic game. So xbox ppl instead of waiting for halo2 to come around try out GTA DP..by the time you finish it halo2 will be out!
